Re: The best hunting hrs.
Not so much archery, where I have seen plenty of deer feeding in the afternoon over the years, but during gun season two prime times are app. 9:00-9:30 and 12:00-12:30, reason being guys are getting cold and heading back to their vehicles to either call it a day, or chow down and warm up and then wa...

Re: This is over the top...
A few years back there were three of us shooting at the range at a local rod and gun club when one of the guys said look up on the bank, on the top of the side bank were 3 deer feeding. There are people shooting there all the time, they get used to it, and it's not the only time that deer were spott...

Re: Game changers for hunting
Another game changer for us over the hill guys is a deer buggy, there is no way we would be hunting some of the places we still are if we had to drag deer out.

Re: Game changers for hunting
I also use various face masks for both deer and turkey, I just purchased a facemask that is attached to a cap, from just trying it on I'm really liking it compared to the other facemasks that I have. One of my biggies is using permethrin on clothing, definitely keeps ticks at bay, I wouldn't really ...

Re: Hunting supplies and parts
Hopefully whoever bought Remington's ammunition manufacturing equipment will gear up and start producing ammo and reloading components. Even long before Remington went bankrupt, Remington wasn't producing a lot of the brass for multiple calibers or the bullets, when/if they gear up they should be ab...

Re: Hunting supplies and parts
For once, I'm glad I'm old! :) I also reload and have ACCUMULATED enough components for every caliber that I have to well outlast me, if I wouldn't have I would be crying, I pity the younger guys that are just starting out. Like others, stores in our area are either completely out of ammo or picking...

Re: You Ever Use One of These??
Face it, WE STINK! Even a coyote will try to circle downwind to pick up scent, if a deer is downwind it will probably smell you no matter what. I remember guys wives saying that they stank after coming back from remote hunting camps in Maine, I was good for a bath in an ice cold stream or broke thin...

Re: Excalibur parts dept.
X2 on your post Joe! I also ordered a spare set of limbs during covid and actually talked to someone, I think it was Peter. I misread my CC# :eusa-doh: and he called me back and said it didn't go through, and I then gave him the right # and received the limbs in short order. I also had a limb splint...

I have no clue if either is viable, but they do make offset scope mounts, and possibly using a red dot sight. He's young and may just to have to learn to shoot as Boo mentioned or learn to shoot right handed.
