Re: Review: Dr Stirrup ArroLok (Quiver)
It is not much heavier if at all and it makes the crossbow balance much better because of where it is mounted.

Re: Newbie Incoming!
You're gonna need some good broadheads that match the weight of your practice tips. You need enough that you can shoot some and save some for the hunt. They will tear up your target bag but if you only shoot a few for verification it should be ok. We have bought some heavy sheet foam, almost like ru...

Re: Well I finally did it.
Congratulations! You're going to love it. Those arrows cut down should be just fine for accuracy.

Last Review: Ol West BBQ and Dippin Sauce
My brother and I don't really like BBQ. We have had Carolina, Memphis, NOLO and Texas to name a few. We usually go for a dry rub. Well we tried this Ol West sauce and we love it. It is sweet at first but then gets tangy and then spicy as it is in your mouth. We made some jerky and used it as a marin...

Review: Ambush Fireless Smoke Puff Scent
This is a cool product that takes the place of two or three others on the hunt. You shake it up and squeeze it upright. Smoke comes out - that's your wind checker. The smoke smells like (whatever) Whitetail Doe In Heat is what this one is - that's your deer lure as the smoke travels in the air and s...

School Project with crossbow got shot down
Our class had a few topics assigned to a few people each. Mine was "Leverage". We're supposed to demonstrate the topic with some sort of model. I made a sort of crossbow out of a piece of raton with a bow string mounted to a board. I showed how hard it was to "cock" the string by...

Review: SIK Broadheads SK2
This is an interesting new design for a rear deploying broadhead. Sik is owned by the same parent company as Bear Archery. The offset blades literally cut out a chunk of meat close to a 1/2 thick. They are guaranteed to open on contact. They stay together out of my Axiom and M380 and make a cut that...

Review: Dr Stirrup ArroLok (Quiver)
This is my second favorite product from ATA. The Dr Stirrup ArroLok is a 3-bolt quiver. The receptacles where the tip goes are spring loaded. You push the arrow in, set the nock in its resting place and let go. Upward or rearward pressure keeps the arrows in place. The packaging says it works with 1...

Review: Dr Stirrup 4X4 Kocker (my favorite)
This is probably my favorite item from the ATA Show tied with the ArroLok. It seems simple, a rope cocking device. The packaging says "REDUCE VERTICAL COCKING STROKE BY 5 INCHES". I'm not sure exactly how it works but it does. I cannot cock the Axiom with the Excalibur rope cocker. Using t...

Re: ACP trigger
I liked it and my brother did not. I felt it was the same exact pull every time and it didn't matter where your finger was on the trigger. I liked single stage better than 2. My brother didn't like that he couldn't tell when it was getting ready to fire and if you put a little pressure and then back...

OT: Louisville Sluggers
This was an interesting part of our trip! I don't play much baseball on a team but I watch it and am interested. It was interesting to find out that each player has a very specific diameter grip, taper, length and weight for the bats. Some of the players have been able to detect a 5/1000 difference!...

OT: I don't like Bourbon
My brother and I really enjoyed the historical significance of Bourbon and a lot of the brands had interesting stories that were more in-depth than just making Bourbon. It smells like gasoline and bore cleaner. We had some Bourbon flavored sauce and chocolate and it taste like someone added lighter ...
