Re: Northern B.C. First Nations call for reversal of grizzly bear hunting ban

I admit, being so far removed from Grizzly in general. I'm ignorant to the whole situation. I hear that people don't eat the meat and it's mainly trophy hunting for conservation/control effort.
When you live so far from it it might as well be an elephant season.

Re: Arrows

....also, both my one son and my BIL have shot deer with my arra's....my BIL was a sworn "TenPoint" Crossbow person until he dropped it out of the tree...He now uses "BadaBing 8) " and shot the biggest deer of his life last year with both, the Excalibur 335 Gen1 and my arra's. Needlessly I DO NOT h...

Re: Suggestion for a feeder

Google “PVC deer feeder” A 4” pipe and a couple fittings and you ratchet strap it to a tree. The bears will feed from it but they can’t break it. I had a 400 pounder trying to ruin mine...he managed to push and pull it a few inches but could not break into it try as he might. If you want to PM me y...

Re: Arrows

The satisfaction of taking an animal with your own made or built arrows is hard to explain. For me it takes away any chance of blaming any bad shot on someone else. As said it brings joy as well knowing you put the effort in as well. The biggest bonus is that it keeps you away from the television, ...

Re: Are they ready?

I agree with janesy. When I worked at Bass Pro, I found most people were pretty accurate , even first time shooters. Most needed more time about shooting safely. I don't know if your talking about first time hunters or just new to crossbows. If first time hunters, they need to try to shoot a few ti...

Re: Calculating FOC

The way it was explained to me was two fold. If you are an arrow manufacturer, you need to make sure your product leaves the factory with the minimum accepted FOC for the arrows intended use, be it custom or otherwise. So they do not calculate with a Broadhead. The end user on the other hand calcula...

Re: Nock Removal

One way I have had good luck on the old Easton shafts was to lay a big 150 grain field oint on the stove until it it very hot. Pick it up with pliers and then screw the arrow onto it. Hold the arrow with your bare fingers at the nock or insert and as son as the heat begins to feel hot on your finger...

Re: Arrows

It gets a little more convoluted recently as well, since late 2018 Quills and Diablos are on fact executioners made by BE. So really, the most recent factory offering no not require upgrading.

Re: Are they ready?

I was wondering what kind of accuracy you would like to see from a new crossbow hunter before you send them out deer hunting. We are set up to hunt our own back forty this year with 20-30 yard shots being the norm. Most hunts will be from blinds with a good rest. Thanks Hatchet With a new hunter, a...
