Well it's all over but the cryin
Season ended here in NC January 1st. For me it was a busy year, only hunted once, and came up empty handed. Worked super hard over the summer on my property, but I was so damn busy this year taking care of other stuff. Anyhow this new spot I worked on produced some awesome pics ( I don't know how to...

Broad heads
I'm looking at lots of broad heads, and have my eye on slick tricks. I also own rage kore. However I have very limited practical experiance with crossbow broad heads, well hell lets call it what it is, I have zero practical experience with crossbow broad heads. I've bow hunted since the young age of...

Re: How often does everyone shoot to stay proficient
I shoot as much as time will allow. Unfortunately that's gone from hundreds of arrows per week to zero. Like many things and many types of shooting, you will get out of it as much as you put into it. Keep in mind, volume of practice doesn't make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect. When you fin...

How often does everyone shoot to stay proficient
I find that I'm shooting considerably more on the weekend, in between doing stuff around the house, and just plain old daily stuff I'm shooting maybe 20-30 arrows a day on the weekends. On the week days maybe 6-10, but that's not every day.
20 yards is the standard here at the house.

X2 This is a great piece of advice.hankenhunter wrote:Welcome to the forum Dave. First thing you need to do is get a stringer to keep brace height for your bow. Second thing to do is keep your thumb down when shooting. Have fun and shoot safe.

Yes like flightattendant100 said they help you drive tacos. Hey like who wouldn't like an arrow that wouldn't produce tacos at the end of every shot

Testament to this forum
So being a total rookie to crossbows, which I might add are IMHO a totally different beast when it comes to what most of us know as traditional hunting platforms, I digress. So today I tried the chair cocking technique with my Dr stirrup set up, and I've got to say that was a valuable piece of Info ...

Re: Trouble with 4x4 knocker. Need some help please
Got it figured out. I paid particular attention to making sure my form is good, and that my handles are level on the way up, so far driving tacos. It had yo be just poor form on my part. All the rollers are working as they should. I think I was just used to being off to the side with the stock stirr...
