Re: What is the best ever made Excalibur-crossbow and why? (Your personal opinion.)

I agree their is no one model in a way. As long as the model is in a 380 Matrix. Lynx or Mad Max, never had a realtree model, but I'm sure vit would work as good as the ones I prefer. Prefer is just a choice, but the 380 is right in the middle of the sweet spot, not to fast not to slow not to wide ...

Re: Questions about lube/wax.

Testing shows that serving life is doubled when the serving is waxed. If you pay attention and don’t leave excess on the serving, it cannot fall into the trigger unit. The thought that it will soften serving material is a wives tale. Serving is made primarily of polyethylene and most 100% polyethyl...

Questions about lube/wax.

It should be only a case for beginners, but I think a lot of people will do this wrong... About 7 or 8 years ago, the salesman learned me (when buying a crossbow) to lube the rails with rail-lube (oily lube) every time before using it and to wax the string frequently. No wax or lube on the serving. ...

Re: High Output Express Limbs

1. Do these new limbs fit on older models, like the Matrix 330 - 380? (or other models?) 2. What do you gain (FPS) if you change the limbs to the newer and stronger limbs? 3. Is there something known about their reliability? You are asking about two different limbs. The Express and the CRT2 limbs T...

High Output Express Limbs

Excalibur is using "high output expres limbs' for their new and fast crossbows. I found this on the forum: (2019) Quote: "We are always making small in line changes to improve our products. We have made some small changes to the matrix limb. The base of the limb that goes into the pocket i...

I would go for the Matrix Bulldog 400 (blackout version for the looks). Faster will cost reliability. Also like to cock it, without using a cranking device.

Re: Broken vs cracked limbs

Right after firing the trigger, the (right)top of a limb broke totally off (years ago, having a M380) Probably a too big loop of the string caused it, that widens over time.

What is the best ever made Excalibur-crossbow and why? (Your personal opinion.)

Of course, everyone will have their own personal preferences.

But it's fun to find out which type of crossbows are most populair and the reasons why a particular crossbow is the best.

Thanks for your input!

Re: Racism on Excalibur foum

Why mentioning if it is no problem over here. Laying focus on these kind of things, often makes things worse than it is.

Re: 440

We don't see nearly the same number of limb issues since the overheating of the limbs was identified. The limbs have seen an improvement after that so I think the number of failure will be dramatically reduced. As far as cocking, I know one knucklehead that cocked it at the ATA. :wtf: The weight of...

440

I'am very happy to see a powerhouse like the 440, but I'm also thinking about the past & fast crossbows (limb issues). Was another riser the(!) answer to all problems? At the other side: the limbs will be stretched up much further to reach 440 fps. ...Or did they (also) made a new kind of limbs ...

Janesy: thanks for the link. Silicone spray is a nice option too, I think. Boo: you're right, safety first! Lubricate(?)

I found here a video about maintenance a exalibur crossbow: (about 10 minutes) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h130NHrDeI0 The person in this clip is telling that he don't use lubricate for the rail, but a rag with a littlebit of oil. Later, he tells that when lubricate comes in the center of the st...

Re: accuracy

Thank you very much, Boo, XB I GO and nchunterkw! Very good and helpfull information.

So, in short: a longer and stiffer shaft will be the better bolt.

I hope I can find the recommended bolts, since I live in Holland. Otherwise I have to ship them.

Thanks again!
