Re: Do you guys wear Camo?

I have both types. My "Real" one is from Gander Mtn. Cost $80 I think and is real stringy etc. It works good in early season when things are still leafed out quite a bit, or if I can sit by cedar trees. Then I have a "Leafy Wear" suit that I think does better in winter when ther...

Re: Do you guys wear Camo?

Yes, but if you hunt from a high enough stand it doesn't matter too much. Two seasons ago I killed a doe while out hanging a stand. I took a gun just because the early doe season was in. I was wearing blue jeans and sneakers and an very sweaty neon green shirt along with the necessary orange hat. T...

Re: affordable crossbow friendly ground blind?

Good tip Kman, I also seam seal all the seams, just like I do with my camping tents. The zippers will leak on the Doghouse, but will just leak down the wall, so you do not get wet. Ya, mine as well seal em up and make em last. Silicone spray and the glue is dirt cheap. And with the wind and rain we...

Re: School me on arrow weights

I live in the open plains of Southern Alberta. On another forum I talked to a guy who took a monster Mulie at past 60 yards with a 380. As for me, I'll wait for closer shots as this is my first year hunting with an Xbow. But once I feel comfortable with that range I'll be taking shots like that. Plu...

Re: affordable crossbow friendly ground blind?

I've got a doghouse and it worked great for coyotes last winter. The folding up part is tricky but once learned is a snap. Plus it folds up so small and easy to transport. Got another blind a couple months back. It's a hub blind, easy to put up and take down. I made sure to use silicone sealing spra...

Re: Shooting sticks or tripods

The Harris bipod idea sounds great. Sounds like you have no accuracy problems. I have a cheap mgm rifle rest I use to sight in my rifles. Works alright for that, I actually prefer the bag and sock though. But I tried using that to site in my 380 and my shots where all over the place. Switched up to ...

Shooting sticks or tripods

. One thing I have learned and Peter even suggested is that shooting off a hard surface doesn't bode well for accuracy. Since most shooting sticks and Bipods don't have much padding, usually just a touch of rubber on top of hard plastic. Do any of you have the same problem? Or is it a matter of how ...

Re: Titanium screw set.

Actually the biggest plus for me is them not stripping out so easily. As of right now I have no shop to work on it. I use high grade tool steel hex wrench but still these bolts like to strip so easily. Gotta get a good set of T handle hex wrenches. I might just buy a couple extra sets of screws from...

Re: Titanium screw set.

I live in Canada and have ordered the full Excalibur titanium hardware replacement set twice from ti64.com and shipping though the Post to Canada was $21usd and no duties involved in such a small mail envelope that ti64 discreetly used. The shipping to the US was $9-10 I believe. So, don't let the ...

Titanium screw set.

Anyone know if there is any Canadian retailers that sell that titanium screw set for a matrix 380. Or even a set made out of harder steel? With the can dollar where it is it would probably be a good chunk of change to pay for shipping and get nailed with duty.

Re: Mid range scope options

My opinion on the DLX. It has good glass for what it is. But the dials leave a lot to be desired. After I first sighted it in it was fine. Then when I got new bolts all the clicks where just mushy and could barely tell if it was working. My 2 cents. I'm definitely going to be looking for a new scope...

Re: Do you guys wear Camo?

I wear Camo. Well I'm new to crossbow hunting but have been hunting with a rifle for a while. I have had lots of close encounters with deer. Almost had a giant muley buck trample me while scouting. Most Camo has been basic stuff more for comfort and durability though. But this year I bought that ATA...
