Re: Ideas for tree stand camo

I also cut fresh evergreen and place them strategically around my ladder stand seat.
I use black cable ties…very light and very strong and very invisible.

When comparing broadheads it's important to note that the broadhead with the longest successful run was a sharp rock tied to a stick. If you look at it that way a Boltcutter is a very sophisticated piece of equipment.

Re: Spypoint Users?

I got one for Christmas last year and just set it up last week. Took a few days to figure out what I wanted the camera to do but I think I figured it out, kinda. I put it about a hundred yards from the house thinking it would have a better signal but now I think it can be put further away. As it sit...

Re: Boltcutters

I just built some custom detailed 622 grain double carbon wal l arrows for a customer who wanted a heavy arrow for his target buck that has never given him a good angle over the last 2 seasons. This year he says he's taking the first good shot using this arrow tipped with a fixed one piece 175gr To...

Re: Boltcutters

The shoulder on a "quartering toward" shot can stop or slow down an arrow and I always suggest to bow/xbow hunters to avoid this shot, especially with large cut mechanicals. I have also seen my fair share poor shoulder penetrations even with fixed heads. One can increase odds using the he...

Re: Boltcutters

Shoot in confidence with a broadside or quartering away shot. Thanks! What about “quartering toward” in the chest? My brother slammed a buck last season that was facing him right smack in the chest and the deer went into a death run/slide right under his tree and expired within 10 yards. I always w...

Boltcutters

I wanted a fixed blade broadhead for shooting through my ground blind screens. I went with a pack of 125 gr boltcutters as they have been around forever. I don’t have any real world experience with them and was thinking there should be some on here that still use them? How do they perform on deer an...

Re: Hawk crawler deer cart update

Just thinking about all the gadgets we use today compared to yesteryear when we carried a gun, a knife, a rope and ammo. No one was in trees unless it was a homemade 2x4 stand and if you found one while hunting, you got excited that maybe this was a good spot! The sophisticated hunter communicated b...

Re: How many of you are ready to roll?

My ladder stand stays out year round and I put my ground blind out last week (2weeks before archery opener) cams went out the same day. My crossbow shoots the same every year…bullseye at 20yds but I will shoot it before the opener anyway. Need some cooler weather before the blood really gets pumping...
