C2 crank
Hi Paul, You are reacting exactly like I did when I first tried to use a crank, it feels really awkward. It was extra hard for me because I'm left handed. Just do it a few times and it gets easy. I got a Charger Ext to replace the C2 because it is ambidextrous and switching hands felt awkward too fo...

Re: They are back
Sounds like a rough patch for crossbow hunters. I am truly sorry for you folks and would support anything I could do from across the country. Am I understanding correctly that you can only use a crossbow in the designated crossbow season? Or can you use it in rifle and muzzleloader season but just n...

Re: Lead free bullets
I have been using Barnes 120 grain TTX in my 7-08. They shoot exactly the same as my 120 grain Ballistic Tips with both Varget and TAC powders, sub MOA. Only have taken 3 bucks with them, all in the lungs and all bang-flops. After seeing xrays of deer shot with high velocity lead core bullets I won'...

Re: A question for the accuracy nuts
I was a victim of target panic when shooting vertical bows and saw exactly what you describe. Seems that it looked very easy to hit bulls at 20 yds so I was sloppy on my execution and follow through. When I got out to 40 yds my groups tightened up because I was trying to be smooth and watch the arro...

Re: Crank for a Matrix 355
I agree that the Charge Ext is a better solution if money is no object and I just ordered one. Around here the Charge is $229 but could probably be found somewhat cheaper. C2 cranks are less than 1/2 that cost, I am selling mine for $100. Both do the same thing but sounds like the Charge is lighter ...

Re: Top 5 excalibur crossbows
I only have experience with 2 so it's an easy ranking.
BD400
Micro 355
Or depending on the hunt...
Micro 355
BD400
I would be a tiny bit interested in the hotter Micro's when the price comes down and they get more field testing.

Re: New Xbows, BHs, scopes, etc
Very timely thread as I am selling off much of my 'extra' sporting stuff. Down to 2 Excals, just sold my compound crossbow, and 4 deer rifles. I don't need 4 rifles so trying to decide which 2 go. Donated a bunch of clothing and boots and still clearing that stuff out. Sold my motorcycle and ATV la...

Re: Ontario hunting Reports ** failure to submit**
You guys are ahead of your southern neighbors again. I wish we could follow a lot of your policies - just plain common sense to require the people actually in the field to report what they are observing.

Re: Excalibur Micro trigger questions
I'm shooting the bow in my garage at 5 feet with my eyes closed so I can concentrate on the trigger. I am getting to love it now, it's so clean and crisp. They definitely got all the grittyness out and lightened it up a lot. It's the kind of trigger that you don't even notice now, which is great. :t...

Excalibur Micro trigger questions
I just got back a trigger group from Excalibur that is a warranty replacement. My original trigger had a bunch of take up or creep that was very crunchy, about 2 or 3 mm travel. The new trigger is clearly a rebuild and still has all the take up mine had but is very clean and the break is light, unde...

Re: Micro 340 TD
I thought the TD feature would be nice so put a hand removable bolt on my Micro 355. It worked great but I didn't really use it at all and went back to the factory bolt. For traveling, removing 1 Allen bolt is trivial and much simpler than the TD mechanism so I view it as a solution looking for a pr...

Re: What's the next hunt for 2020?
I am going to NH in October and trying to decide if I want to go to Ontario for rifle deer in November. Didn't get to Canada last season and my gang had a very slow season up there. They saw mostly wolves and very few deer but did get one 200lb buck. May even go out west with a friend to hang out in...
