I bought one recently and am not particularly happy with it for use with crossbow bolts. It's designed to hold an arrow steady by it's nock. Neither the flat or half moon nocks fit the nock receiver on the AEZ very well resulting in poor results. Yes, it can be done with a lot of consternation (and ...

Funny you should mention this now. I JUST finished loctightening my scope with (blue) after it had come loose causing th bolt to hit 1' off it's mark. I had previously loctighted it but took the base off to modify it for more eye relief. Figured the white residue would be enough to keep the base tig...

Actually the LumiZone requires batteries only if you want a lighted reticule. It will work perfectly fine without batteries.

Second that, only upgrade to a LumiZone to give you low light capability.

You're lucky to be getting 320 fps, based on the chroned results with my Vortex. The Excel string chroned at 305 with my rig. The Flemish string upped it a bit but not more than 320 using the same bolts and 100 gr tip.

It will shoot lower at 20 yards. Try using the bottom of the heavy top post as your 20 yard aim point. TRhat's what I do for 10 yards when my X hairs are set for 20.

Saw a mulie albino fawn while hunting in Montana some time ago. It ran right past us several times. Rancher said it didn't survive the winter, other deer kept beating up on it.

Buy the one that you fits you and shoots the best. Try as many as you can, including other brands, to see which one is best for YOU. Size, weight, cocking effort, ease of maintenance, eye to sight alignment and, most importantly, accuracy, should determine your choice....regardless what someone else...

Welcome. I shoot a Vortex and a Parker Terminator (It's a tad lighter but quite a bit narrower). Yes, Excaliburs hold their value. Not much you can do to make an Excalibur lighter. But if holding it steady is the issue, Ten Point makes a telescoping monopod that fits any croassbow with a front sling...

They are definitely butes. On the afordabel side, agree with you on the R-9, super trigger. I shoot a couple of scoped RWS springers. Them's accurate too. Dime at 30 yards, no challenge. Shotgun primers (stuck in a board), a bit harder.

If they are the rubber kind, you put them on by relieving the pressure on the string and inserting a string spreader. Slip the silencer in and back out the spreader. That said, they lasted about ten shots on my Parker, didn't matter if I tied them in ..... made no difference in noise, changed there ...

Bow holdback device

Saw a contraption used on TV with which a one-armed man could hold a conventional compound bow cocked and then fired it using his teeth (no kidding). Anyone know what it's called? Trying to inform similarly handiapped person.

About 200 miles north from my deck where I practice, Andre. Actually the drop resulted from trying to hook the string without holding the bow with my hand. Thought I had it pretty solid with just my foot, it tipped forward and onto the scope as I was hooking the rope onto the string. No damage done ...

I've done it with several gun stocks. Used the minimal expansion kind. Worked great. Tape anything you don't want messed up and wear rubber gloves. I can't think of anything that works as a solvent on the stull.
