Re: Want to try something new this year
I love my lumenocks. They do make a big difference especially in low light.Easy to follow for shot placement and bolt recovery. I also use mine when I'm dragging a deer out in the evening. I'll have my treestand and crossbow and move them about 50 yards away and place a ligted lumenock there and go ...

Re: LSU
Didn't know they gave out a trophy for second place!!! Just kidding... I do like SEC teams more but I always enjoy a good game whoever plays. Does seem crazy that good teams have to rebuild after every year due to choaches being hired somewhere else and players leaving early for the draft. I'll just...

Re: Morning or afternoon hunts
I do prefer morning hunts beacause of the improving light conditions. I do have places that produce only in the morning and some only in the evening but after a quick kill count, 50 percent are killed in the morning and the other 50 percent in the evening. Go figure!

Re: O/T Shotgun Turkey Hunters
I think I've used just about everything out there. I would use fiber optics over plain bead sights. Just easier to see in all light conditions. I prefer a Simmons Pro Diamond scope overall. Just works better for me.A legal bird for me has to have at least a 6 inch beard so a scope helps me out.If th...

I was looking at the fat layer on the meat. We don't get much way down here in the south! Looks awful good though.

Re: Trying something new this spring
What ever you chose Dan , you'll have a blast doing it. I love deer hunting but hunting turkey is just alittle bit more special to me. Something about talking to that turkey to make him come to you and to feel that gobble that wants to knock your hat off. Gotta love it!!! Good luck again Dan.

Re: Camera mount
I haven't tried a scope mount yet. I've come up witha poor mans version to test if I want to go the filming route. I use one of of those big black paper clips that you use in schools or the office. I turn the phone sideways and clip it to my foot stirup. The side of the phone is level with the top o...

Re: Ticks on deer
They do seem to run in cycles down here too. Most of the ones I get are pin head size also but I'll have 100 on just one hand.
