Re: Blood trails

I like to see them drop myself. I do alot of hunting by myself and hate the feeling I get when I walk up to where I shot the deer and can't find any blood at first. Feels like pure panic for those ten seconds then pure joy when you find blood.

Re: Never happen to me

Things could have been alot worse. Glad that it wasn't. Good reminder for everybody to do the extra steps to be safe. Hope you heal fast to get back to the woods.

Re: Hunting the lunar charts.

I looked at things like that when I was younger. I believe there are too many variables to be consistent with it. I live in the deep south where the rut is really scattered from Oct to Feb. I've learned over the years that the best way to kill a deer is to be in the woods. So I'll be there when its ...

Arrow holder spring

I recently put some surgical tubing on my arrow holder and was just wondering if people are putting alittle lube on it to reduce arrow friction or just leave it alone? Hoping to hunt after we get rid of a few hurricanes down here.

Re: What's your stand height

Me and my Ol' Man climber usually go 15 to 20 feet into a pocket of trees and then wrap my stand with some camo netting.

Buckshot

Looking for help from those who use buckshot alot. I have a Mossberg 835 24" barrel with a full choke. I have plenty of 00 and 000 2 3/4" buckshot. Will these be good or should I use another choke or move to smaller buckshot? I know I have to pattern them, just wanted a good starting point. Thanks!

Dan did a string awhile back for me when I had a question about one. Did it all himself and sent it to me. You have to appreciate people like and thats what makes this forum great. Even thougth I've never met Dan, I think about him everytime I see that string.

New Blood

Well Louisana has come out with its new season dates and it looks like I'll be able to bring my grandson out for a youth hunt this year. The timing will be right since he will be off from school a few days at that time. His father hasn't taken him hunting yet so I'll get to break him in.He'll get th...

Re: Excalibur TrailBlazers

Is there any real difference between the innerloc vs. trailblazer? Looks like one uses a filament, the other a pad.
