Re: Equinox Limb ?Problem? Or not?
I was toying with the idea of getting a newer crossbow, but I’ve talked myself out of it (with Dan Miller’s help!) What a guy! He’s a pretty colorful guy. At one point in the conversation he paused and said! “ I’m no Sunday school teacher.” I said, “well since you brought it up, I actually am a past...

Equinox Limb ?Problem? Or not?
Deer season in Ohio starts in 20 days. So, I was checking my gear. With a cotton ball, I found a little tiny splinter on one of the limbs of my Equinox. It still shoots perfectly (bullseyes at 20, 30, & 40 yards). I think it’s no real problem, but thought I’d ask the forum to share some wisdom w...

Re: Letting Them Walk
Hey guys, thanks for the replies. Very helpful. And I'm glad I waited for a better opportunity and didn't take the head-on shot. Yesterday at 4:06 pm the same buck chased a doe by me. I stopped him and sent an arrow through him. I got one or maybe both lungs and a piece of the heart. I'm very thankf...

Re: Letting Them Walk
I bought an Excalibur Equinox this summer and I've been very impressed with it. Shot 3 mature does so far this season. It has 225 pound draw weight and it is awesome! But I've also been wondering about the 405. Would it shoot hard enough to go right through a shoulder blade? I know there are so many...

Re: New Member W/ Basic Questions
Thanks everybody. I am really loving my Excal. Yesterday morning, I took another mature doe. I was sitting on the ground with a leafy suit top on. 2 does came to eat the acorns that were falling from an nearby oak. I arrowed one of the does. Perfect heart shot.

Re: New Member W/ Basic Questions
Bow season opened here in Ohio this past Saturday. Monday evening I arrowed a nice big doe with my Excalibur. It was a perfect quartering away double lung shot. Very happy with "The Beast". Thanks for all your help!

Re: New Member W/ Basic Questions
Yeah, being a pastor, with a pastor's income, I understood long ago that I'm not going to have the newest and best of many things and I'm okay with that. I just give everybody else a few years to test out stuff for me and when it drops into my price range on the resale market, I'm excited to get it....

Re: New Member W/ Basic Questions
Hank, I have a few 125 grain Swhackers that I was thinking about using. But those are really for the kids that I teach to hunt. Most of my other BHs are 100 gr. For my compound. I want to shoot mechanicals because I hunt in suburban areas and the deer need to die before they cross a property line. I...

Re: New Member W/ Basic Questions
Thanks guys! The fella I bought it from didn't lube the rail and I don't think I will either. It has the metal rails. And I'll be buying some Dalton's wax. For hunting deer, I assume I'm okay with whatever arrow and broadhead I want as long as the total weight is over 350 and the mechanicals don't o...

Re: New Member W/ Basic Questions
I just discovered the FAQs so I think I can figure all that out. But would still appreciate any advice on wax & lube. Thanks in advance!

New Member W/ Basic Questions
My name is Ken and I have successfully hunted deer with compound and crossbow for years. I just bought a Equinox and want to get started out right with it. I have read enough to be completely confused on the topics of serving string wax and rail lubricant. So I am seeking the wisdom of this forum. S...
