Besides the camo pattern What are differences between the Strata and the Assassin.
Best I can determine on one site is that the Strata comes without the air brakes and hard case. Anything else ???
I was wondering the same thing.

Re: Long Range shooting

Updating post: I have my bow setup and sighted in. I am using the Huskemaw crossbow scope. I collected my own arrow drop data with hands on shooting to send in for the turret. I am using Spynaltap 18 inch bolts with 110 gr inserts, plastic nocks, 125 gr SWHacker broadheads, Flex Fletch SK-300 Vanes....

Re: What is your favorite Xcal target block?

Hands down the Rhinehart rhinoblock. It's the same material as the 18 in 1 but with a larger shooting surface and a replaceable center. It's more expensive than the 18 in 1 but with the less expensive replacement center it's the better deal in the long run. Paul I ended up buying the Rhinoblock. Co...

Re: Micro vs Matrix

I don't have either of those bows but is either one compatible with the Excalibur cocking mechanism?

Re: Long Range shooting

I bought the huskemaw scope. I have not shot it yet. Did you just send in the arrow/broadhead weights and speed to huskemaw or did you actually shoot it to get the turret engraved?

What is your favorite Xcal target block?

I have several shooting targets. Its time to replace them and get new ones because I keep shooting thru them into my backup targets and its a pain to remove bolts and messes up fletchings. What brand has good stopping power for a Matrix 405 and is relatively easy to remove bolts plus can shoot broad...

Re: Long Range shooting

My most accurate set up to date, with my M405 , is with an Optimizer, Duralyt 2-8 (VXR 3-9 is a great choice!) , Dr Stirrup stirrup and string bumpers, TT trigger, a good, forgiving string from Boo or Vixenmaster, cocking with C-2 (more consistent), Optimizer extension, I use an arrow spring with r...

Re: Zombie inserts

Excused.... I did think they were press fit and have had no luck with any methods listed so far. I really thought the gun cleaning rod would work but I rapidly slid the bolt down the cleaning rod brace on against the floor about as hard as I could and nothing moved. I think I will have to just use t...

Re: Zombie inserts

Ha, ha... NOT asking about nocks but inserts. They come with 80 gr but I want to use 110 gr.

Thanks, I will give it a try. I assume just a lighter is hot enough for a min or two?

Re: New Matrix405 string

Ok, I thought as much. wonder why they sent it so loose? Its a lot different restringing the bow that has anti-dry fire mech. My previous bow did not have that. I bought the crank and used it. How do you deal with this? If I buy a high performance string, how long should it be? I have a flemish stri...

Zombie inserts

Hey all,
I made my first purchase of Black eagle zombie bolts. I ordered the fletched version. Anyone know the best way to change out the inserts without damaging the bolts?

New Matrix405 string

My new bow came with the string really smashing into the sound dampers. Is this correct for this bow. There are no marks on the rail for string position like my older Excalibur has on it.

Re: Long Range shooting

I'm assuming you're talking about target shooting at 100yards and not hunting as that's really not a good idea. For long range shooting I'd suggest 18" Black Eagle Zombie Slayer shafts with 110 grain brass inserts and plastic flat nocks. Fletched with 2" Blazer vanes on an Arizona Rim E-Z...
