nock end of bolt gets a flattened edge??
I am using the diablo arrows I got with my matrix 380, an it seems that after 20 or 30 shots, I sometimes get a misfire with the arrow firmly placed on crossbow. The bow just hits the dryfire bar an the arrow only go's 20 yards or so. I also seem to be getting a flattened edge on the nock which I th...

flattened shoulder on nock end of the bolt???
janesy, I also seem to get a dryfire even when the bow has a bolt in it. When the trigger is pulled, the arrow only go's about 20', an the string is held with the dryfire safety device. ??? The flat nock end of the bolt ,seems to have a flattened 12 o'clock flat angled shoulder in the nock. It happe...

Re: adjusting the rubber string stoppers
Thanks for the help guys. I took off the reds an removed the leather shims, putting it back an tighten the set screw. I also backed off the brace height, from 1" to the joint, down to 3/4" to the joint. This made the string 1/4" from the redds when uncocked. I hope this won't slow it ...

Re: adjusting the rubber string stoppers
Janesy, What do you mean????..........the bow limbs is 1" from the joint to the forearm connection point, as the book said. My book also said, that the reds?? was supposed to be 1/4 " from the string, which my reds rubber string stopper, was around 1" or more away. I spoke with anothe...

adjusting the rubber string stoppers
I really don't know the correct name, but the rubber string stoppers that stop string slap , are supposed to be 1/4" away from the string when the bow is in an uncocked state. I could not get the stoppers to get this spacing, so I had to make a heavy rubber shim to push the stopper to the 1/4&q...

Re: new matrix string seems shorter??
Sounds like you need to adjust your crossbow stringer to pull the limbs farther, and is the brace height on a matrix 1”? nooo, the brace height, with a new non twisted factory string, is exactly 1 1/4". I sure don't want to twist the string an shorten it. My friend bought his matrix when I got...

new matrix string seems shorter??
When I first got my matrix 380, it had a blue string. I shot it for a while, then switched to boo strings. I found that I lost 30fps in arrow speed over excaliber stock matric strings. I sighted in with Flemish boo string, an took that off to put a new ,out of box ,grey (matric-said it on the box) s...

Can somebody please tell me, When I am cocking back my crossbow to load the bolt for a morning hunt, do I leave the safety on when pulling the string back to fully cocked , or safety off, load an arrow(still safety off!?) then engage the safety after fully loaded???..........sonny

Re: FLEMISH DYNA STRINGS
Janesy, The Zeiss scope has FPS velocity adjustment to correct arrow drop at different ranges. If the scope is not dialed in for arrow speed, how can you possibly hope to hit center, when your shots are dropping down from your crosshair measurement placement? You can be dead on at 20 yards, but then...

Re: FLEMISH DYNA STRINGS
Just had two Boo strings for my matrix 380 crossbow made.....waited 8 months.........I shot my crossbow at 20 yards a zeroed it in, then moved to 30 yards to adjust my scope (zeiss) for arrow speed, as I do not have a chronograph. I couldn't believe that at the thirty yards, using my thirty yard cro...

pennsylvania herd is down
Well, I am starting to get real tired hearing some guys on private large farms bragging that they see too many deer. The general population of hunters on public hunting grounds see nothing, or if they do, they kill every doe they see. These are the same people who say, if you don't take them, somebo...

Re: matrix 380 with factory 19" arrows
Yes, what your saying makes sense. I tried to get a dead nutts on center using an extra long level an also use a smaller level on scope top cap to line up limb with scope. This proved almost impossible from a balancing act to achieve absolute perfect alignment. The idea on a plumb bob to get the aim...
