Re: If you had to replace your crossbow...
I can afford any crossbow I want and I’d choose the Matrix, G340, Bulldog, or GRZ2, with Nikon 3x or ACOG I’d cry if I lost my old Grizzly. I’ve killed more stuff with that thing than most every crossbow combined. Something about the lower speed Matrix, cocking weight makes it reliable, quieter, fas...

Re: Blood on arrow?
I get that frequently, I’m a lung shooter. I fire, sit tight, watch and listen. Usually dead within 35 yards. I stay put only long enough to get myself together then go after them. Most time I retrieve the bolt after I recover the deer and usually don’t even look for blood on the ground. I don’t min...

Re: Red dot scopes
I’m just an oddball. Twenty years with red dots in the military and I find Ghost rings faster than the red dot. I even took my aimpoint off my leveraction. One of my leveraction, the 2.5 Leupold is faster and a better option. I thought the red dot would lend itself better for HD but I find ghost rin...

Re: Red dot scopes
I tried an Eotech XBow, that particular rig now has a Nikon Bolt. It sounds all cool at first but a little magnification and brightness in low light works better for me. Yep, helps miss those pesky branches and twigs! You would think so but I took a shot last year on a buck at 14 yards from the gro...

Re: Dang Ticks!!
I only know one other person with it and they got skin rashes and such. My PCM team was completely ignorant on the subject until I pushed it, only because my dad had read about it somewhere. Anyway, my doc said some folk can go into shock and need one of them shots with them until it goes away. Man,...

Re: Dang Ticks!!
I was the first person the military system tested for the lone star meat allergy. Alpha Gal test I think it was.
For me, the leaner the red meat, the more I felt like I was getting the flu. Everyone has different symptoms.
Mine lasted for about 3 1/2 years and I’m over it now.

Re: Bow hanger for your cross bow in treestand
I use a contraption too but I have a piece of para cord tied on to the stock and the tree in the event it comes loose the crossbow won’t fall.

They should come out with a Matrix 340 and ACOG Crossbow scope package.

Re: crossbow scopes
There used to be an old saying about spending as much on your scope as your rifle. When it comes to crossbows, other than the freak exception of the Nikon Bolt, ACOG Crossbow. If my hunting always dictated the use of a crossbow because nothing else was allowed, I’d (and I do on certain lands) have t...

Re: Hunting clothes what is your go to?
Dead brownish grass to pine straw colored bottoms and a camo top, nothing matching but complete different color tone difference between top and bottom half of my body, mask, and silent fleecy stuff mostly. I never use blinds other than sitting in a brush pile or piece of burlap when I’m on the groun...

Re: Scopes
I have a Nikon crossbow P3 . From what i read its the same as the old bolt except for the turret caps. I like it well enough i think i may order another to rat hole back before they go extinct. I use a Bolt and bought two P3’s for $48 each on clearance from Academy. Best thing going next to the ACO...

Re: Arrow & broadhead combo For Grizzly
I’ve killed hundreds of deer and hogs with my grizzly and Nikon Bolt scope. I always come back to the boltcutters and diablo. I use currently the 100 grainers. The grizzly can/will/does pass through any North American animal. I get pass throughs on 400lb hogs. Shot one hog 420lb what was supposed to...
