Re: JAKE AND HIS GIRLFRIEND SHOWED UP From primos

What stakes did they come with? Most of the time if I use a jake decoy I put him like he's about to get him a piece of azz. I make a hole in the hen about where the tail starts, put her on the ground like pictured and put jake stake in the new hole ( no pun intended ). Hope you get to have a season,...

Mainly cut hedge hackberry and oak burn the oak and hackberry on the cool nights and days, save the hedge for the coldest weather. Burnt in an indoor stove with a glass window , I have to be able to watch the fire burn it does my old bones good. For saws I run a Stil 024 and 009 only cutting 2 to 3 ...

Re: What Turkey Call For A Beginner?

I'd start with a slate call and get a couple of different diaphrams, Walmart will soon be loaded with the things. After you figure out what your doing with the economy models ( which will all kill turkeys ) then you can move up a notch in the quality of calls. Some of the Knight and Hale mouth calls...

Re: TURKEY HUNTING! It’s here New Brunswick

BBQ'd pulled turkey leg sammiches in the crockpot are a staple in football season around here. Also like to make turkey nuggets with the breast meat, 1" chunks soaked over night in Italian dressing then a roll in seasoned flour or Italian breadcrumbs and fry.

Re: mechanical broad heads

I can see both sides of this. In my thinking on a horizontal shot you could find blood spray ( SIGN ) from exit of the arrow but not have a blood TRAIL immediately if hit was not low in the chest. And on the other hand I see a BETTER CHANCE of a much quicker blood TRAIL on a elevated shot due to sho...

Re: O/T turkey gun ready to shoot.

Nice looking rig. You might want to get a couple boxes cheap dove loads to get you close when sighting her in. Those heavy loads are going to punish you with that light of a gun. Then again you might like the punishment :wtf: I did when I was younger, NOT anymore.

Re: "New" gun

If I was you, and you want to continue shooting it for plinking. Use 22 shorts !!! I saw one at an auction awhile back and it said on the barrel " 22 short " so I assumed that was all you could shoot in it. Fine looking rifle Joe I would have liked to have the one I saw but my pockets were not near...

I go in using no scents wearing rubber boots and try not to touch anything. When a deer comes in I want it to think it's business as usual! :)
I do this. If the wind isn't right for me to walk in, I don't go.
Me too
