I have always just let it fly right from my stand. Hasn't deterred deer from walking right under it.
Yep, and playing the wind is crucial!

Re: Rain, Rain, and more rain.

I'm not sure how it would work but it has to be better than draggin a deer threw the muck. Or you could bone it out where in fall and take acouple backpack loads out. I would chose the second.

Re: opening day delay

I totally agree with your reasoning. Our season has been open since 9/15 and, though I'm retired and can hunt all I want to, I've just gone out 3 mornings. Our high temps. have been mostly 85 - 90 degrees and the woods is like a jungle. I'm 70 yrs. old and this is the hottest Sept. I can remember. ...

Re: Dont trash that old hang on stand

Looks good spent many hours in stands like that with a chain and a turnbuckle around the tree. Unfortunately 35 yrs later only one of my butt cheeks will fit on them little seats, ladder stands and blinds for me now.

Re: Exo Bull

It is a sweet bull. For some reason when I dream of a moose hunt it's always in Alaska. How is the population in Ontario, I've never checked into it. How's the availability of tags and ground to hunt on and I guess most importantly how's the cost of a guided hunt compaired to Alaska? Never even con...

Re: Exo Bull

I believe it but not familiar with the older bows, whats the story on the equipment used and hunt details are always good. One of my bucket list hunts the other is brown bear. But got a feeling I'll be six foot deep in the bucket dreaming of them. God forbid I'd get a terminal illness but if it happ...

I try to stay away from Chinese products as best I can. But sorry I need my occasional fido and puddycat fix and have to hit the local buffet.

Re: Hunting/Land Leases

I have never really used an agent really. Years ago I was in a couple of different clubs, 1 small and another much larger. The smaller one was only about 50 member and only about 15 of them were active other than opening weekends of deer and turkey seasons. It was more of a good ole boys club, we ha...

Re: excal 308

I don't have one but one of my close buddies bought one last year for his wife. She loves the thing and harvested a doe and a buck with it last fall. He took it to Canada this spring for a friend to use on a bear hunt, his buddy killed the biggest bear that was taken in that outfitters camp this spr...

Re: Vanilla killer

I must have missed the recipe, would like to see it. Back in the day there was a product called Cover Up that smelled like pure vanilla but I didn't taste it. There was a time I wouldn't leave the truck without it. Always like to put down afew does mid October before primetime. With the daughter dec...

Re: IT.S TIME

Hate to hear when someone hangs it up, scares the crap out of me that some day I will be in your shoes. It sounds like some of your boys hunt so hopefully you will still make it to a deer camp just to tell lies and sit around the fire. Anymore to me the camps and the people are what I remember more ...
