Now that you are hunting into Alabama there are several good WMA’s to hunt. I spend a good amount of time in the Choccolocco WMA near Heflin.

I have a Thompson Center Pro Hunter 30-06 pistol with a Precision Armament muzzle break that makes a good public land weapon because it is so easy to pack it and extra clothes in deep to get away from the crowds.

Thinking of getting a new crossbow. I currently have the mega 405. Any problems with the 440? Is it worth the money to upgrade for the new trigger and scope? I will be using the same 20 inch zombie slayer bolts with 110 grain inserts to absorb some of the energy. Thanks

Big 6 mineral salt from Tractor Supply is all I ever use. The deer love it and it is less than $ 8.00 per 50 pounds.

Ended up getting the 405 to back up my other 405. With a new string from 8ptbuk I am sighted in and ready to go. His strings are great if anyone is interested.

Does Kentucky allow crossbow hunting now? I know for a while they didn’t. Maybe if you were disabled. A group of people I work with go bow hunt there every year. Just looked it up, they have a crossbow season now and you can use it in gun and muzzleloader season. Just can’t use it in archery season.

Good shooting. They make for great target practice, and dumplings.
