Re: Arrow Recipe for Turkey
Pass throughs are just fine. The key is to hit them in the correct spot. A lot of guys will shoot and not find them because they run off and die. Proper arrow placement will drop a bird quickly. My best suggestion would be study the turkey anatomy and shot placement charts, and use the widest cuttin...

Re: limb noise
That's not a good sound! The only thing that I can think of is there may be a loose bolt on it somewhere, allowing movement and noise. It's not uncommon to find that a bolt or two needs tightening from time to time. They'll get it figured out and take care of you!

Re: String wax and rail lubes
I use a silicone string wax and no rail lube. I just keep the rail clean and wipe it with a very lightly oiled rag.

Re: EXCAL NEW EX SHOX
All caps is rude and frowned upon?? LOL! YOU GUYS NEED TO FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT. The Ex Shox do basically the same thing as brush buttons, which slide over the string an eliminate string slap noise. A lot of longbow and recurve shooters use them....and they don't cost much at a...

Re: Why does most justify a crossbow with an injury??
Maybe some people feel that it is easier to give an excuse rather than argue with someone that may disapprove of crossbow hunting. Here in the state of West Virginia, crossbows have only been legal to hunt with for 2 seasons. (In previous years you could hunt with a crossbow by special permit only) ...

Re: string wax
What brand string wax are most of you using ? I know Boo recommends using a "soft wax". Not quite sure what it is or who makes it. All I've used in the past is the push tube type. Any info would be appreciated. I have used this Bohning silicone based wax for many years...and I use it ofte...

Re: Scope setting
It's not difficult. Start out by setting the speed ring to your crossbows advertised speed (or a little lower)...Using the scopes windage and elevation adjustments, sight dead on at 20 yards....move back to 50 yards...using the 50 yard mark in your scope, shoot at the 50 yard target. If you hit low,...

Re: Late night impulse
LOL! I bet all of us have had compound crossbows. There is nothing wrong with them. I like them too, but we all know the simplicity of the recurve makes it more user friendly and less likely to fail.

Re: Recurve shooting
I love my old recurves. I still have my Wing Red Wing Hunter that my parents gave me for Christmas, 43 years ago. I've taken several deer with the old Bear Kodiak Magnum
