Thanks guys !
Yes the wheel was in the way originally. I had to order the wheel spacer which moved the wheel further out. When unhooking the hooks (after it's cocked) I just grab the right hook and pull it slightly outward so it doesn't slap the wheel. It's really not a big deal at all.

Re: Grizzly Done
I know this is an old thread but I wanted to take a minute and say thanks to everyone here .. thank you. I've been shooting my Grizzly for about two years now off and on and really enjoy it. Now I know that I made the right decision getting this bow and the way I set it up. I couldn't be happier. Wi...

Re: fletching removal
I use Bohning's The Stripper with pretty good results. I'm now using Fletch-Tite Platinum and I'm happy with it. It has a 2 day cure period but it's holding up well, removal is much easier, there's less chance of gouging and there's no need for acetone. JMO

Re: rest for in a blind
Not too long ago I got the Hip Stick rest. I thought it would be ideal for both turkey hunting and blind hunting for deer. It's light weight and straps to your hip. You can use it on your hip or strap it to your leg. I haven't had a chance to actually put it through any testing but I plan on doing a...

Tom I agree totally.Tom wrote:
If your comfortable with your deer setup, and accurate, then I would use it. I am also a firm believer in not getting a pass through. If the arrow stays in the bird, it is more difficult for the bird to run or fly away.

Re: Grizzly Done
Gene you are right as usual. :D The mods that I made were for one reason .. and only one reason. To make the shot that counts as accurate as possible. In the words of Ted Nugent .. aim small - miss small ! I do have many years experience with the vertical bow. I also have many years experience hunti...

Re: Why so much upgrading??
I purchased my Grizzly for several reasons. Excalibur's reputation, warranty and the price of the Grizzly. I did a few upgrades but not for the "latest and greatest" reasons. To keep it short I just wanted to have the best accuracy possible for hunting and to keep it as quiet as possible f...

Re: Grizzly Done
Thank you for the information wheelie ! Well here are pictures of the cheek rest I made and the Optimizer with the wheel extensions. I didn't want to drill any holes in the stock so I utilized the two existing holes. So far they are both working fine. http://ultraimg.com/images/2017/02/24/pCZ...

Re: Grizzly Done
Well I guess you guys were right .. I have the bug. I saw someone shooting with an HHA Optimizer speed dial and he let me try it out. I was blown away. I was checking online for sales for the past two weeks. I got a really good price for the Optimizer with the Hawke scope. I mounted it and adj...

Re: Fixed vs Expandible Broadheads
Shot placement is the most important thing. That's why we practice with broadheads to make sure we are as accurate as possible. Heck I bought my xbow this year and could have went out in the field this season. I decided against it. I felt I needed to know all the in's and out's about my bow first. I...

Re: Fixed vs Expandible Broadheads
Good information. I remember reading somewhere that the fps was a way to judge if you should use fixed or expandibles. The theory went 350 fps and below fixed was fine. Above 350 fps expandibles were better ... if I remember correctly.

Re: Xbow poundage/pull
This is just my opinion so take it for what it's worth. I went with the Grizzly because of my back and leg. I can target shoot with it, hunt with it and it's not too much on my back and that's using the rope cocker. I haven't had the chance to chrono it yet but ThackMan says his is at 280 fps. So I ...
