Re: First Refletch Part 2 "The Failure"

I like either Gorilla glue blue top or Got Tuff HP-High Performance. Keep in mind that if you use the Gorilla Glue on inserts or nocks they will be virtually impossible to get out even with heat.

Steel Force Phat Head 145 grain

For those that shoot stock Firebolts with aluminum inserts, consider this head. I have been shooting it out of my Equinox with excellent accuracy. The blades are thick and really really sharp.

Re: arrow fletching glue question

It seems like the arrows fly as good as the stock firebolts before I reflectched them. I was just curious. I will be more careful next time. The glue is Gorilla glue blu cap.

arrow fletching glue question

I recently refletched a bunch of firebolts. There is some excess glue between the vanes on the shaft. Is this worth rubbing with acetone to clean up or is this probably a non issue as far as accuracy is concerned?

Re: Broken Bolts

I have only had 2 firebolts ever break. One was from wounding a wild boar which we found 1 week later and shot 2 more time with guns. I think the pig must have rolled with part of the firebolt sticking out and snapped it in half. The other was more recently. I hit arrow on arrow during traget practi...

Re: Hard Case for a Vortex

Many of the Excal shooters break their bow down and use a hard gun case. Plano is coming out with a hard case called the Manta that will fit excals without breaking them down. I will take a hard look at that when it is available.

Re: Aftershock

I have never shot the aftershock but have used a very similar head called the Swhacker. With the Swhacker I have killed 2 bison and 1 wild boar with my crossbows. The Swacker is a great crossbow head.

End cap removal

I have some damaged end caps that I need to replace on some Firebolts and Goldtip Lazer 2's. What is the best way to remove them? When I am replacing them, do I glue them back in?

Arizona EZ fletch differences

I see that on the Arizona EZ fletch website they have a fletching jig with right helical(6 degrees) and an offset(4 degrees). Is there any real advantage of one over the other? Will they both clear the flight track channel ok with 4 inch vanes?

Re: Arizona EZ fletch problems

Thanks to every one for the help. I kinda got the hang of this fletching thing. There were several problems. I ordered some new right helical aluminum arms from Arizona EZ fletch and noticed that the new arms closed quite a bit tighter and more precise than the old ones that were 10 or more years ol...
