Re: The Kid doing his Euro Mount
. To whiten them up and remove residual odor I use peroxide and bag the head, tying the bag tightly around both antlers so it does not whiten the bases. Then pour in as many bottles of peroxide as it takes to have cover and soak the entire bagged skull and work it's O2 magic. This removes smells th...

Re: The Kid doing his Euro Mount
He's doing a great job on that mount. Those pieces do typically fall off of them when boiled, as do the teeth. They are glued back in place when done being boiled with wood glue and allowed to dry together for a good fit. I do my euro skulls with bugs in the summer by burying the fleshed skull in a...

That's a good clean kill right there, with no huge adrenaline dump into the meat. Congratulations.

Re: Montec CS accuracy problem
I think indexing is a waste of money. I have not seen any benefit from it, and have proven to several friends that have paid for it, then shot non indexed arrows with the same accuracy. Get a rabbit foot, or lucky penny, same result with less $$. If you’re going to be shooting past 50 yards, you mi...

This is about as good as it gets showing deer anatomy, minus the actual lungs.

Re: Montec CS accuracy problem
There is a definite need to shoot spine matched and indexed bolts with a crossbow to get good accuracy. Jerry at South Shore Archery does an excellent job of building near perfectly matched sets of arrows. They are not cheap, but you will hit where you aim,so you won't be loosing them. As far as bro...

Re: Charger ext help (won’t retract)
It would be best to send it back to Excalibur so the engineer's can take a look at it and make the next model's of cranks better by fixing the issue.

Re: What do you think of a Longhorn?
I'd go for it! But it would be best to build heavy bolts in the upper 550-650 grain range if you are planning to shoot the thing. Also, practice "seeing" where the heart is on them, and aiming, and shooting in between ribs to get the best penetration to said heart for a quick kill. Getting...

Re: The pitfalls of getting lazy
You should plants a half dozen chestnut trees in that area. The deer love them, and will go to them before the acorns even. It will take five years to produce a crop, but in ten years time every deer in the country will be there eating them when they are falling.

Re: Blood trailing in the rain
I live in a Rain Forest. If I didn't hunt in the rain, that would severely limit the number of times i could get out. Be damn sure of your shot! Sadly, I have yet to get out this season due to many many difficulties. Hope to rectify that soon... Nog The temperate rain forest islands of the Pacific ...

Re: Blood trailing in the rain
There's two products on the market that are wonderful tracking aids. The first is Bluestar blood tracking spray. It makes the blood glow blue in the dark. You don't need a light, just spray and follow the trail as it glows. https://www.google.com/search?q=bluestar+blood+tracking+spray&oq=bluesta...
