Re: 350 SE or LE arrows
I am shooting 18", both the stock Diablos and then some customer Double Eagle Executioners from Wyvern. The Diablos are about 400 gr with a 150 gr field point and the Executioners are 409. Both seem equally accurate. I would tell you Wyvern, as the person above is doing, suggested 20" bolt...

Re: Arrow question
I'm new to this, but I have done tons of research and it seems that most gravitate to different arrows for exactly that. A bigger selection of broadheads and accuracy. The stock arrows matched with the recommended Boltcutter broadhead already has sufficient FOC. I think most newer Matrix models use ...

Re: 2017 seasons goals?
I'm hoping to take my first deer with my Excalibur/crossbow. To date all my harvests have been with my trusty 30-30. I really want to be productive in bow season though before hunting pressure gets too high. Ideally I would take at least 2 does during bow season and then hold out for a real nice buc...

Re: Matrix String
Another option is to contact Wyvern Creations. Dave has Matrix strings made by JBK. The JBK strings are what I use on my Matrix. Have priven to be very good quality. I just changed my factory string on my 350SE to one of these last weekend and just after sighting it in and some target practice, may...

Re: Venison sandwich spread.
I just have to jump in here. I made fajitas this weekend and smoked on my Pit Barrel Cooker a beef flank steak for my wife and a venison loin for myself. Very, very tasty. I essentially used the same marinade I normally would for beef and smoked the loin to about 150 degrees. Very tender, very good ...

Re: Doe tags
Anterless tags guys, not doe tags. No such thing as a doe tag here in Ontario. You need to have the antlerless tag in order to shoot spike bucks with less than 3" of antler. How much are you guys down south paying per tag/deer? I believe it was $49 here? Here in Virginia, only sheds and button...

Re: Doe tags
I live in Norhtern Virginia and hunt in Madison County, in the Blueridge Mountains. Out in Madison we get 6 tags per year, only three of which can be antlered deer, and fortunately we don't do earn a buck. We can buy additional doe tags as needed. Lots of deer out there. In Northern Virginia, as the...

Re: Finally got my Micro 355, now for a scope...which one?
If you like your Hawke, look at the XB1 SR. I have it on my 350SE and it's a really nice scope. Clear optics, fairly small and light weight (13 oz and 8.3" compared to 16.5 oz and 10.1" on the XB30). The eye relief is pretty good, reticles are nice, the illumination works well. I have only...

Re: Matrix 350SE Owners
I upgraded my scope this past weekend to the Hawke XB1 SR and dialed her in. Looks pretty good at 20 and 30 yards, but I still have some practicing to do. I pulled one shot at 30 yards (in the neck in the attached pic), but hit very near the heart when aiming there and had a number of double lung sh...

Re: Feed Plots
Clover mainly here. I have a 3 acre or so pasture on my 10 acre property. It also has a stream that runs though it providing the southern border between the pasture and the woods. The northern border is my driveway and east/west are woods. The deer hit the clover hard all summer. I have started tryi...

Re: Matrix 350SE Owners
I just picked up a Hawke XB1 SR for my 350SE. I didn't really like the Deadzone scope that came with the package. It sighted in fine, but the big triangles for the reticle points weren't ideal in my mind and I really wanted something with illumination. I haven't sighted in the Hawke yet, but the opt...

Re: Arrow and Bow combinations of forum members
I'm new here, just bought an Excalibur Matrix 350SE. My target practice and then turkey/coyote arrows are the stock Diablo arrows with Excalibur Boltcutters. For deer, to keep the 400 gr total I had Wyvern Creations build me custom Double Eagle Executioner 18" arrows with an 80 gr brass insert ...

Re: What arrow weight do you prefer?
I'm new here, just bought an Excalibur Matrix 350SE. This is only my second bow season and I hunted last year with a Carbon Express compound bow, but really wanted to get a recurve. So far arrows I plan on two things, both around 400 gr. First, the stock Diablo arrows with the field tip for normal t...

Re: Matrix 350SE Owners
Looks like this topic is about a year old, but I wanted to post up as a new Matrix 350 SE owner. I just picked one up and it's waiting for me at the local FedEx store when I get back in town. I'm looking forward to sighting it in and getting out in Virginia Archery season. I'm moving up from a Carbo...
