I have a Remington Model 700 ML. I am going to verify it is still good tomorrow after work. It will shoot a 1" group at 100 yds and has killed many deer. I still shoot real black powder. Goex FF. Anyone know of any stores in SW VA that stocks black powder anymore, I am down to half a pound.

I have this same grinder http://www.sambaere.com/sb500.html but I bought it at Northern Tool on sale for about $80. I have used it 2 seasons so far, (6 deer approx. 50 lbs ground meat) and its works better than the attatchment for my wifes spam Aid mixer.

I was bow hunting before the early muzzle loading season was put into effect some 15 years ago and felt your sentiments about the ML season encroaching our bow season. I now look forward to getting the ML out for the early season. The early ML season is always the peak of the Chase and sometimes the...

Well I ordered some bohning platinum glue, thats what they recomend on their web site. Hopefully it will work better. I don't have any problem with the other glues siticing to the shaft, its the vanes that the glue doesn't seem to want to stick to. I have to scrape my carbon shafts when refletching.

Hey groundpounder have you thought about using carbon fiber or fiberglass to cut down on weight? Mcmaster Carr has a lot of different materials.

Fletching tip and a question

When setting up my bitz fletching jig for a new size shaft I will put masking tape on the arrow shaft and fletch to the tape. That lets me see if the offset is what I want and that the fletching makes good contact on both sides. Just pull the tape off, no scraping glue and if good, go at it. Now for...

I almost scared my friend out of Crossbow hunting

My friend came over and I was building arrows and he asked "you got to do all that?" I told him no just go buy some arrows and shoot no problems. I got some Thunderbolt shafts and the easton nocks were not drilled or tapped so I chucked em in the lathe and fixed them. Now 30 grains instead...

Getting ready to build arrows, f.o.c. question

I have built arrows for the last 20 years and always had about 10% foc with carbon arrows for my vert. bows. I have been researching here and read how some people feel higher foc is better. I ordered the beman shafts (I used the first ones they came out with 15 yrs ago that had outserts and were sup...

New Guy from VA, you guys were right.

I have bow hunted for 20 years and I love any kind of hunting. I got the bug to try a crossbow and did a search in Google and found this place. I was sold and bought a Phoenix pagage. FOUR shots and the bow is sighted in perfect, I know the string needs to strech and my speed will increase (also ord...
