Re: Busted/Broke Swhacker 150g Broadhead.

Jus my opinion, yer B-head hit the protruding thick bone on the shoulder causing the extreme pressure on the B-head shank n insert. I havebeen usin up my all alum. ferrule B-head. I am usin my steel fixed on my game animals, usin the alum. on varmits [/quote That's why I've gone to brass inserts. AJ

My guess is you hit the shoulder blade and the broadhead imbeded it's self in the bone and the deer ran and broke the shaft ,insert on brush or a tree .

My thoughts exactly!!

Re: Busted/Broke Swhacker 150g Broadhead.

The bolt that I shot the buck with had been shot maybe 2-4 times at a target bag with a practice tip. Placing the actual broadhead on the shaft I saw no issues. The only reason I was using this setup (factory Quill) was because I was waiting on new arrows to arrive. Brass inserts. https://i.p...

Re: 2020

Travelling is state of mind! ( If I had one, that is :wtf:) If I wanna hunt Javelina, Elk or Aoudad in West Texas, it's roughly a 700 mile one-way trip from my place in East Texas. Hunt for Pheasants, Pronghorn or Mule Deer in the Texas Panhandle? 450 miles one-way. Snow Geese on the rice prairies a...

Re: C2 and Narrow Crossbow

I have a C2 crank I use with my Exomax. Was looking at buying a Micro Axe but it uses the Charger crank. Was wondering if there is another narrow crossbow I could get and not have the spend the extra money on a Charger crank. Looks like the Micro 355 is a good way to go. Bill The AXE uses the regul...

Re: That's a wrap for 2019

Season is a wrap for me on January 5th. Was indeed, a some have stated, a "slow season". weather here has been a huge factor. I think we've had a total of 5 days below the 40 mark, much less freezing. Hardly any sign of rut activity. Saw one buck ALL season actually acting interested in a doe. It co...

Re: Morning or afternoon hunts

I voted "morning", but like most, I'll hunt ANY chance I get!! I will admit I have shot my biggest bucks in the morning. Actually looking at the times, they run between 8:30a-11:00a. Might sound strange, but that's my personal experience. I killed a BIG 9 this year at 10:55AM!! Caught him in a clear...

Re: Still hunting Crossbow

I really like my Micro Suppressor 355. It can be a little on the "stout" side to cock, but man is it light and compact. Works great out of a "pop up" blind or in a tree stand. I equip mine with custom BEE's made by David over at Wyvern Creations. They hum!! I mainly hunt out of a tree stan...
