Re: BC Proposal to BAN Scopes on Crossbows

Bottom line is we can all scower the internet looking for support for our views and I don't really want to carry that on. I hope you are successful in your efforts as they seem very important to you. Personally like I said makes no real difference to me I will still hunt with what is legal and avail...

Re: BC Proposal to BAN Scopes on Crossbows

I found this of interest too ! Eluding Harvest: In the evolution of hunting and wildlife management, we can delineate four categories related the probability of an animal avoiding being killed once it has been detected by a hunter: 1. Short Range (maximum, ethical range less than 50 yards): The abil...

Re: New crime data contradicts government gun plans

"That’s the goal. It always has been."

Yes that is the real true of Liberal gun control and always was no matter how they try to spin it !

Re: BC Proposal to BAN Scopes on Crossbows

"You say that you cant stand progress making archery equipment too efficient. Yet you use compounds. Should you not be restricted to long bows, recurves or crossbows only in archery season. Yes crossbows have been around long before compounds with their let off, triggers, lighted sights, now they ha...

Re: BC Proposal to BAN Scopes on Crossbows

"As hunters, conservationist or just a norml person, it is a responsible position to make sure we harvest our game in a humain mannor with the least suffering possible. When we take steps that make it more difficult to do humain harvests, it is a disrespect to the animals and the hunting community."...

Re: BC Proposal to BAN Scopes on Crossbows

"Making any archery equipment less accurate does NOT help in controlling numbers of animls harvested, I can see it harming the numbers in the herds. If a hunter has a bad hit and is not able to recover the animal, the hunter does not use his tag, therefore is able to continue hunting to fill his tag...

Re: BC Proposal to BAN Scopes on Crossbows

Ya I don't get it . If your only reason is that a scope makes it more efficient at making a killing shot and all that matters is making a good shot then we should all be hunting with modern firearms as they are the most efficient. Bow seaon is not about using more and more efficient weapons or their...

Re: BC Proposal to BAN Scopes on Crossbows

Well then we should all be using scoped rifles if efficiency is all that matters.

Re: BC Proposal to BAN Scopes on Crossbows

I don't disagree that scopes make the weapon more accurate whether that means less wounding or not thats just an opinion. The issue for me is that as more and more technology is added to the crossbow yes it gets easier and more efficient to use. I honestly don't see this as good for its continued us...

Re: BC Proposal to BAN Scopes on Crossbows

I'm not sure how you can just make a blanket statement that it will increase wounding and loss rates . My problem with scopes is that they give certain people a believe that they can take shots they shouldn't and yes does make them more efficient in bow season. I have friends that bought crossbows w...

Re: Good news for Quebec hunters

Thats awesome what is the fall season dates? Will it be around thanksgiving so you can get a wild bird for dinner ? :D Its good to here that some areas are getting higher numbers as in most of the states I hunt they are talking about reduced numbers and reduced seasons. I see this coming year that K...

Re: BC Proposal to BAN Scopes on Crossbows

Reduce the effectiveness? Why? So you will have more wounded animals?? X2 My thoughts exactly. The point of reducing the effectivness is not for wounding but for the effectivness in killing more game. If the number of harvested animals goes up to unacceptable rates during the archery season which i...

Re: BC Proposal to BAN Scopes on Crossbows

Yes but it is my understanding that this for all bows not just crossbows. Wow! That's completely ridiculous. Perhaps you should lead by example...maybe look for a low poundage bow like a Vixen and cut the rail down. After all, no need for that crazy speed. :eusa-think: Paul I'm not really su...
