Re: Matrix 355

I have to admit, my Matrix 350 is certainly a pleasure to shoot and is probably my most accurate bow. The mid-range Matrix bow are hard to beat.

Re: Anyone want to share their cam pic?

Most of my decent cam bucks hit the dirt, but I did capture one promising young buck that we didn't see in the late season. He has dual split brows so he could be offsping of the 11pt I killed. https://jdarig.bn.files.1drv.com/y4mMNJBfcePIogyYUSdgs2lZJIwhXU1E7b5Qw7ORa7EXN5SqaZslT1mgdS9F2BUZq_119u33Z...

Re: 2020

Yep, the wheels are turning. Our duck hunting has been on a downward decline for a few years, so I've decided to forego that hell week this year. But, it also happens to occur during some great rut action in Arkansas. I may end up going back that same week and bow hunting for some big river bottom w...

Bottle up 2019!

2019 was an unbelievable season for me. Looking back, I believe I have trail camera photos of all three bucks. Some were taken well before the season, and others didn't show up on camera until the week they were harvested. https://r00row.bn.files.1drv.com/y4mx8EL5YVsE0P2ByFf7uJObMlr6IhJcc2y9X7SkRJF-...

Micro Suppressor 400TD first impressions

While I'm not normally inclined to jump on the latest greatest thing, the Micro 400TD checked all the boxes for me. I'm partial to the Micro platform, prefer the camo rail, desire a Tact-100 scope and have been waiting for something that would push 400fps. The fact that it also has the take down fea...

Re: Morning or afternoon hunts

I prefer morning hunts because that provides me plenty of time to process the deer that same day. I'm also not a fan of tracking deer in the dark. But, I certainly do hunt both times and have found them to be equally productive. I tracked down one buck after dark this season and took another buck tw...

Re: Santa's Treasures

Cute pup Boo. Santa brought a pellet grill from the wife and a trail camera and crossbow hard case from the kids. It's been a good year. Good luck with the semi-retirement. I hope to be there in about five years, about ten years earlier that most folks say you should. But I'm hoping to enjoy the out...

Re: How High

There were five bucks and two doe taken from my primary stand this season, not all by me obviously. The seat is at about 23 feet. The tree has an upward bending limb that forks off at about 16 feet and the main fork at about 24 feet. The chain from my hang on is through the main fork so I have three...

Re: Hawk Helium sticks over rated.

That's good to know. Now that you mention it, this sounds like it could be a problem for any of the individual climbing sticks that only have a single connection strap. I have a 24' stick-together type climbing stick on my primary stand and I know I pull hard on it sometimes leaning away from the tr...

Re: Surburban Deer

I certainly see similarities. This year I literally threw my orange hat at a spike to try and run him off. He totally didn't care. He watched me climb down the tree not 25 yards away, then when I reached the ground and picked up my bow, he put his head down and kept eating acorns. I wasn't bot...

Re: Suppressor 400 speed

I saw a Youtube clip that showed 391 fps with the stock Proflight arrows using the stock setup. I have to admit, of the new models this one certainly has my interest. I'd be interested to see the speed with a 400+ grain arrow, and the speed with the SDS removed. If it hits 380fps with a hunting weig...

Re: WHY IS IT.......?

I always say that about this time of year. I'm going to 'get out more after Thanksgiving'. Then early December comes around and my hunting area looks like a barren wasteland. You can see every leafless inch of it from one spot. Sitting in a tree I look like a lollipop on a stick due to lack of cover...

Re: Crossbow prices

I talked my brother into finally upgrading his crossbow and he picked up a Micro 340 Axe with a stringing aid for $515 US. Coming from a 17 year old Horton, he was quite impressed. Three shots at 20y to sight in, then one shot each at 30 and 40 that each hit the bullseye. He's convinced and hasn't e...
