Re: Youth Day in North Carolina

Congrats,Tyler!!!! Thats a great turkey and a great story.I am sure proud of you.Ray, sometimes God has to give us a wake-up call and let us know that "our" plan is not "THE" plan.Hang in there it will all work out. I have faith in that.

Re: Caption This

Is it PC to refer to a black person as "little buddy"? I mean we all here would not want to cross that line. Right? love it.

Re: Turkey callin'

Dont look down your noses at the Primos "Spring Hen" or any of the push button calls. They do a remarkable job and are easy for a novice(or old hand) to learn to use.You can use them one handed and they make a mount type for your gun or bow. These may not be classy or sophisticated but sure do work t...

Re: Where should I hit a turkey?

The old saying that I have heard is,"Hit 'em high, watch "em die,Hit 'em low, watch 'em go.The tom that I got this fall I shot about mid wing ht.He went 10-12 feet. You dont want them to go far as they dont leave much in the way of blood trail, and the feathers are super camo in the woods.

Re: Scope mount problems.

I worked in a gun shop here in Ft. Worth in the mid seventies, and have shot a LOT since then. I have mounted many, many scopes on every thing from air rifles to magnum pistols to large calibur rifles and some shotguns. The trick that my old boss used to avoid any problems with screws getting stuck or ...

Re: Hey Y'all

Welcome. Where abouts in Texas are you from? I'm in the DFW area. I hope that crossbows really catch on and take off this next year. I know that there were a lot of people that didnt know that they were legal during regular archery season this year.

Re: How many did something like this?

Sometime around 1976(when everyone in the USA had to have a muzzleloader to commemorate the bi-centenial) a friend decided that he had to have a blackpowder gun. He shot it for a while and then became bored and started to make some small bombs(pipe and cannon fuse) and set about to see what all he c...

Happy Thanksgiving to you, Ray and Tyler, and to all on the Excal. forum. I got up early and made a cobbler and when my wife got up she said" Oh, I have all ready bought pies". I told her "Fine, I'll take the cobbler to the deer lease in the morning for our post Thanksgiving Day (left-overs) feast".M...

I have wondered the same thing and am very interested in replys from folks who have tried this. I know that Dan Miller has a Leupold listed on his price list but I dont know if parallax has been set to a shorter distance or if it is a shotgun or rimfire scope.

I was going through the pics on the SD card from one of my game cameras recently.Had a few deer, a few hogs, even a few cows,I hit the button to scroll and there on the screen were two guys in full camo, one with a bow and one with a gun.The one with a gun has his face turned so that you can see a go...

Met Ray and Tyler today

I met Ray and Tyler at the Bass Pro Shop just north of DFW airport this afternoon. They were wanting to see some sights and get Tyler some boots I think.Ray did pretty well with the flight, but his back was bothering him pretty bad.We had a good visit, and I was just really impressed at how nice of fo...
