I have shoot 3d courses for many years with a vertical bow but today I took the Crossbow out to the rod and gun clubs 3D shoot and shot my best score ever for a 30 target course a 295 not a single body hit 22 center lung hits with 11 spots or the quarter size bonus ring inside of the center lung and...

Good job it can be hard to judge size from a tree but a clean kill and a feed family are what matters congraulations.

I dream of hunting Elk one day with my cross bow .
Congratulations!!!
How was it getting it out did you have to quarter it up,use horses. ATV or move camp to the Elk and live their untill the meat runs out.

What is the best thing to aid bolt removal from 3D targets I am referring to a lube I here a bar of soap works well is their any thing better?
I am aware or the pliers and the 3rd hand helpers.

Best way is to shoot often, and do it from a variety of ranges, that will develop the habit for you. I look through a lot of scopes, but that one jumps out at me right away because of the dominating chevrons/mill dots/triangle things. Also, the last thing I do before I raise the bow is range my tar...

I will harvest the first mature Doe I can get a good shot on with archery tackle for the the meat I do not want to go without venison for a whole winter that would not be a happy winter for me. I can be picky after the 1st deer is down be it a buck or doe .
I am very proud of all the deer I harvest.

Are you cocking the bow by hand , using a rope cocker or crank?
Hand cocking can cause inconsistent groups.

An easy way to tell if your string is hitting the riser is put some lip stick on the riser and fire the bow if their is lip stick on the string then you are hitting the riser.
