I use one on all my hunts for a good wind or a bad except in a steady rain. Not gonna say they are fool proof! They buy you time, it's a foreign smell one they may have not encounter before? I'm surprised they didn't asked for you to send in the whole front end? Usually they replace the riser too. The riser is a revamped version of the original, lost a few FPS there but all in all the game and or target will not know...

G5 Striker for me, shot placement is key. Heck a sharp rock on the end of a stick has taken many a game...

Tangle Eye, a dead deer that just doesn't know it yet can cover some dirt. If the land you hunt is not a road trip I'd hit the woods where the tracks were last seen heading in. Sounds to me like the shot was good, that deer is lying not to far from where you may have last looked. Just my thoughts...
