Re: Broad Heads Decisions Bear Hunt
I shot my first Bear with a Vortex and my broadhead that I used was a Spitfire Max 125 grain and the arrows were the stock Firebolts. The Bear went about 35 yards. It's all about shot placement and your confidence. The both set ups you mentioned will get the job done. Hey can not wait to see the pic...

My Nephews First Turkey Hunt
I signed my nephew up for the NWTF chapter Tri County Longbeards first annual youth hunt in New Jersey. I met a couple of great guys that morning and we went into the field. The hunt was filmed by Main Frame Media. Joe did an excellent job and a Kyle was a awesome caller. We set up twice and the thi...

Re: Question about crossbows
To answer your question I would go to a pro shop that you and your son could shoot the crossbow. This is a not something to play around with if you are not knowledgeable about the crossbow and to set up a target in your back yard I would wait till you have learned the crossbow. I would just shoot at...

Re: Spring hunting & black flies
I have used Thermacell with great results while hunting in Canada. I also heard good things about Sawyers for spraying on your clothes. One other product is the Cabelas Skinz under garments that you were under your regular hunting outfit. I have a couple of hunting buddies that use this product.

Re: nap killzone experience
I shoot NAP Spitfire Max 125 grain with stock arrows from Excal both regular and some with Lumenok on them. Both with my Micro 335 and the older Vortex and I have killed many Deer with both. One of these days I will try some better arrows but until I start to run low on the ones I have I will still u...

Re: Why does most justify a crossbow with an injury??
Well I first seen my first Excal in Canada many years ago on a fishing trip. I looked at it and had in my hands. I thought it was pretty neat and said to myself I would never own because it was to easy. So for many years later I still was shooting my compound. As time went on and my age started to c...

Re: My alternative to banding
I shoot NAP Spitfire Max 125 grain now and have shot other Nap mechanical broadheads and have never had one open up on me. I have taken many Deer over the years. I can't say I'm lucky or it happen to me. I do no other guys that go with the dental bands just to be safe. I guess with me if it ain't br...

Re: Bells and whistles
Hey guys I looked at that scope at the Harrisburg show and almost pulled the trigger. My question will this scope work on my Micro 335 being it's a bit smaller in frame size. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: what do you do with your harvest
I donate a few deer a year to the Hunters Feeding the Hungry. It's goes to the local food bank. Then the ones I do keep I make into chip steaks, ground meat and stew meat. I also make Jerky with some of it too. One of the guys in my group makes all kind of sausage both hot and mild. I would say the ...

Re: Rubber boots
The rubber boots I have been wearing for years and I love them is Dicks Sporting goods brand. I wear the 1000 grams both early Archery and then into late winner. One thing I like about them is Dicks has a good warranty for them. I had a pair get a crack in them and they replaced them with know probl...
