Re: New Vortex crossbow scope

Well I was excited to hear about the new vortex crossbow scope but a 100yard reticle is about as useless as it gets for hunting with a crossbow. I understand they need to cover the target shooting crowd but come on already. I couldn't agree more, I was really hoping for a small hunting retical. My ...

Re: New Vortex crossbow scope

It's on the site now. Reticle is odd to me. center is set for 40yds, with crosses above that for 30 and 20. ANd then crosses below that for 50 to 100.

Re: Hunting show pet peeves!!

Being in NC now and hunting these southern deer...........Canadian Whitetail makes me think I'm hunting some kind of miniature subspecies! HAHA! Those are some big big deer up there. Haha! I hear ya, when I'm flying down 95 through Georgia in the minivan every March I can't believe the deer hiding ...

Re: Hunting show pet peeves!!

I agree. I kind hate the shows that seem to scream "Look at me and see what I did". I like to learn more info from them than the bragging. What I have always hated is when I get back home from hunting and people would ask "What did you kill?" I've said many times here on this forum , "Theres more t...

Re: Balls in the dryer

Fellas, I Plan to be living in the Barn with the boy by then. I do fear for our safety in advance. Unfortunately for my washer and dryer, there have been many a chunk of wood to go through them. I might just give it a try. All my base layers say to dry them in the dryer, and I do mostly as I don't ...

Re: Mechanical head premature opening test (Graphic heavy)

If you are shooting 30 yards or more and getting good accuracy with your broadheads and they are opening in flight then what is the problem? I had one that I suspected would open in flight and shot it at 30 yards anyway and it flew about 20" high over the top of the target. Now I suspect in that ca...

Re: Mechanical head premature opening test (Graphic heavy)

I'm sorry, but I don't think these tests prove a thing. The NAP Spitfire was tested with bows as little as 4lbs to ensure the broadhead will open. So what actually opened these broadheads, the inertia of the shot or, most likely, hitting the sheet of paper? The only way to be 100% sure is with slow...

Re: Mechanical head premature opening test (Graphic heavy)

Great test and test setup!! ON those open blades it would be interesting to try to calculate the rate of spin you are seeing too. In the first pic you can clearly see how the blades rotated from paper 1 to paper 2. Maybe a good fixed head on a good arrow isn't out of the realm of possibility since y...

Re: CORONAVIRUS SCARE- INFORMATION WE ARE NOT RECEIVING

Mortality rates being reported are way out of whack because as Anthony says, not many or any of the mild cases are being tested and confirmed. I heard a doctor yesterday who was very reasonable. The one exception to this is South Korea where they are doing really good testing. There the actual morta...
