Re: wraps

Hi Jody, Yes I have fletched just one fletching back onto an arrow using the Arizona EZ fletch. You just have to feed the 2 good vanes into the first 2 arms a little tricky but not that big a deal - even with feathers. Then on the 3rd arm you just do it like normal and clamp it down. Accuracy is fin...

Re: wraps

Don't use wraps because I don't like the residue on the rail, or having to replace all 3 vanes if 1 gets damaged, or the added weight at the back of the arrow. I am going the other way, using Gateway Rayzr feathers (all 3 weigh 4.2grains). Had no problems fletching aluminum or carbon with vanes (use...

Re: Got My Arrow Fletched & Ready To Go

Just curious...why the wraps? They look cool, but when I shoot quickspin/quickfletchs (the ones with the shrink wrap) out of my Vortex I get a little bit of that "wrap" left on the rail.

Re: Victory Archery VAP Voo Doo

Big58...I agree. I don't see a big advantage and maybe a little disadvantage. What happens to the arrow when the bulge leaves the rail and the only thing touching the rail is the back end. Seems like the front will fall a bit...a very little bit ....but still. I also wonder about wear on the 2 spots...

Re: Victory Archery VAP Voo Doo

Did a little digging last night and found the same stuff. I did find one guy in another archery forum that said he was shooting one arrow. Didn't see a big accuracy difference, did think they were a bit faster and thought maybe had better penetration - but he was only judging that by how far it went...

Re: Victory Archery VAP Voo Doo

Wow. No hits on this one. I did a search too and there was a thread on this in March with basically no hits there either. Guess there's only 1 way to find out about these........woo hoo new stuff to test!

Victory Archery VAP Voo Doo

A buddy asked me about these.

Looks like an interesting concept. Anyone have any experience with them?
I sent them an email asking about insert weight and FOC measurements. They use brass inserts on their other bolts.

Re: F.O.C.

Higher FOC makes the arrow flex less at impact which should help penetration, which is good for hunting. That is why I like higher FOC. It also helps stabilize an arrow by increasing the efficiency of the fletching by increasing the distance between the balance point and the fletches. Using shorter ...

Keith, I thought that was a foregone conclusion with you and Danny. No question with me Keith, I will keep you in mind.

Yeah,....I have another of is "no wax" strings to shoot right now. They seem fine as well.

Re: Excel string with 0.035" Angel Majesty Test

Finished up my 300th shot tonight. String is off the bow and I will send to Danny probably Wed. I want to get 300 shots on his "waxless" string as well so he can compare. Need to shoot it 58 times tomorrow. Angel Majesty serving looks good. Normal wear, 1 small fraying thread. It held up better than...

Re: Acceptable Accuracy ?

OH...I forgot.....I seem to notice...Maybe it's just me..I'am not the sharpest broadhead out there.....But it seems the accuracy of the ibex seems a touch better at 20 yards then the vortex & past 30 yards the vortex seems a touch better then the ibex.......It is hardly noticable...just seems that ...

Re: Hunting Shooting Position

Put 75 shots on one of Boo's strings yesterday and decided to do it all from a seated position on the ground. Definately a little harder as I had to get up and down for every shot but I think this or truly offhand will be my practice sessions for awhile. My accuracy was not as good at the beginning,...

Re: Excel string with 0.035" Angel Majesty Test

Boo...right. I meant making a serving that will hold up to the higher pressure. Judging from the bows they already make the curve looks pretty linear to me. 25lb in draw weight = 20 fps, and all that is achieved with draw length. Assume they could get to a 250 lb draw weight. Should put it in the 37...

Re: Excel string with 0.035" Angel Majesty Test

It will be interesting to see the difference between the 200lb bows and the 225lb-ers. PSI between string and latches on 200 lb bow = 6400psi. (assume latch = 1/8" width, and string = 1/8" width. That equals two 1/8 sq in areas holding back 200lbs. In 1 sq in there are 64, 1/8 squares. Then 200/(2/6...
