Re: QAD Exodus

They look like a three bladed slick trick to me. That might explain their penetration advantage (three blades would offer less total resistance than four). I haven't had any penetration issues with slick tricks with either my Axiom or my 350 SE. In my mind, the north, south, east, west coverage of a...

Re: Maine, Here I come!

What an exciting opportunity for you! I recall you posting that you didn't get out much last year so this will be the year that you make up for it. Good luck!

Six weeks from Saturday

It's August 1 and opening day of our Missouri archery season is finally coming into sight. Our season opens on Sept. 15 which is just 6 weeks from this coming Saturday. A look into our freezer revealed just 5 pounds of ground venison remaining from last season's 3 deer. I'm looking forward to trying...

Re: What's next??

I'll let everyone else worry about the new models and I'll continue to hunt with my 350SE. I'm sure that I would be impressed with the Assassin's new trigger, but I can already hit the bullseye every time (within normal hunting ranges) with my current bow and trigger, so what would an expensive upgr...

Re: Garmin Xero™ A1i Bow Sight

I may have sounded hostile in my earlier post and I didn't mean to. This sight could make it more likely for a shot to be lethal and that is good. It might also prevent people from developing the skills necessary to make shots when they don't have high technology assisting them. I learned to bow hun...

Re: Garmin Xero™ A1i Bow Sight

Will this contraption enable me to make shots I can't already make with my scope? Is it lighter than a scope? What is the benefit?

Re: guys whats the normal kill time or distance travelled after hits?

As was stated above, there is no predictable distance an animal will go after a hit. I have been crossbow hunting since 2012 and so far have killed 8 deer, all with heart lung area hits (my arrows have hit no guts or hind quarters). Three of the deer have dropped within sight, I found another dead a...

cold weather spring turkey hunting

I have been a spring turkey hunter for 40 years and this spring has been the most consistently cold one yet. There are always a few cold days, and I remember one year when there was snow on the ground on opening morning, but this year has been the coldest overall. During the last couple of weeks I d...

Re: Went for a walk.

It looks like you have a serious deer overpopulation problem where you hunt. You have to accept the responsibility to do something about it this fall. It's a burden, but we expect you to do your duty.

Re: Composite Frame vs Aluminium Frame?

I have an Axiom with the SMF frame and a 350 SE with an aluminum frame. Both bows are equally reliable and accurate, I killed one or two deer every year I used the Axiom and I killed two deer last year with my 350 (the first year I used it). Zero issues with either frame material. I would not hesita...

Re: Quiver on or off when hunting?

I leave it on when I am walking but take it off when I am in a stand. The quiver gets in the way a little bit when I rest my bow on the shooting rail and I have to get down from the stand any way to re-cock my bow after i take a shot, so there's no reason to leave the quiver on.

Re: New to Excalibur Crossbows

I don’t know the nature of the ribbing from others you are taking but all of us crossbowers have heard the BS. Just remember If the bully doesn’t hunt with a longbow in archery season and a flintlock during rifle season then he/she is full of crap. Just hunt! I agree completely! But will go a step ...
