Nose Jammer Experiment

I liberally sprayed a log lying on the ground alongside the small corn pile. Always got a few pics without the Nose Jammer over a span of a week or so. Never got this many pics in just a few days. I'd say the Nose Jammer is drawing them in more consistently than just the corn because of the new buck...

Re: Ticks on deer

I had a huge deer tick on me two weeks ago. Oldy enough I drove into a cut corn field, got out, walked maybe twenty steps in 6" corn stubble. And came out with a tick under my shirt on my bicep. Go figure how I picked it up. Also during moose season up around Parry Sound the deer tick larvae was on...

Re: My Experiment

I've see Sean's videos. He's a good guy.

I don't use it during the rut but when things slow down it seems to help keep them around. Will see how it goes.

My Experiment

Maybe too late in the season to use this now. I started spraying it early in the season low on the trees where the corn feeder is. This way the deer associate the smell with food and don't spook. Church Buddy's deer like it judging from the pics of them smelling the trees. The spot is so small playi...

New Area (Update)

Found a new spot of 45 acres bordered by a creek on one side and a cemetery on the other. Mostly wooded with a power line right of way down the lower 1/4 of it. About 10 minutes from my house. I'll be talking to the owner this week. Wish me luck!! Bill Struck out!! His son hunts it. Looks to be an i...

At best this area is a travel corridor for them. You just have to be there when they are passing through.
There is a bit of luck involved with hunting a place like this. You just have to be there at that random time that a deer decides to walk through.
You are right on target!!

Re: Patterned

This area is void of scrapes or rubs and with the exception of the deer trails you wouldn't even know deer had been there. That said it is definitely not their core area and my attempts to find the core area have all failed. I can't tromp around in the other peoples back lots scouting so I am at a d...

Patterned

Hunting my Church Buddy's place can be frustrating. It's only a 3 1/2 acre property in a large subdivision. His back fence borders a large open field which doesn't really add much because of the lack of cover. I used the County Assessors software to check out a Goggle map that shows all the boundari...

Re: Pa. Gun Deer Season my health has me down. UPDATED

Thanks for your prayers. Update-----I got the call from the doctor who did the biopsy on the mass on right lung. It is cancer, and he is now setting up a pet scan and then meet with a cancer doctor. I never smoked. I forgot to ask what could have caused it, but will ask the cancer doctor. Steve Han...

One thing we need to seriously consider is safety. Everyone please be careful and keep your heater in good shape. Don’t get careless and have an accident with it.

Stay warm and safe!!

When polishing the trigger latches do you remove the trigger to do it? Mine appear ok but was curious how you do it.

Re: Buck Movements

My turn to wish you good luck! :D Got up with the landowner and verified his property lines. Come to find out I have another good spot that is still on his property. Will have to use my Grill Suit though. Don't want to move the ground blind in there as it is very close to the bedding area. Be easy ...
