Always field dress and butcher as quickly as possible. That's how we have done it for many years. Not saying that aging is bad, maybe it works for you; however, we have best results with fast as possible from field to freezer. The regs in NY are ridiculous - set by uninformed legislators. It should be based on arrow speed not draw weight - a reverse limb compound cross bow with a longer string draw and a draw weight well below 200 lbs will launch an arrow much faster than your 355. Not sure how the authorities in NY will ...

Thanks for all the replies. I'm sure I will have more questions. I can't really say now how well I can master the decocking process using the rope aid, especially in the dark until I watch the video and try it until I can do it routinely. There is no danger of the rope aid slipping off under pressur...

Paul I did buy the stringing aid as well. I got the set up from Wyvern and there was a small instruction sheet regarding string brace height and adjusting after several shots of break in for the string. I bought an additional string, so I think that I will break in both strings, so I will be set if ...
