Success! The 5/64 size HTS 78 Dyneema rope fit through the holes and worked beautifully. This looks to be a little bigger in diameter (very slightly bigger) than the original rope that came with the C2, so I'm guessing it is stronger. It's rated at 1,000# breaking strength, so it should hold up well...
With a bow, vertical or crossbow, I do not hunt in the rain. The harder the rain the lower the chance of recovering your deer. Not worth taking the risk. Better days are always ahead, and I do this for enjoyment; agonizing over a lost deer is not enjoyable.
I will keep you posted. Just ordered today West Marine part# 12357406. Got 8' for $2.42 including tax. It's dyneema from New England Rope Co. which is similar to Amsteel.
Thanks I will do that. The rope can be compressed some and pulled through with surgical pliers. I will order the 5/64" rope, I believe it will be plenty strong enough and the other rope did not get wasted as it is used to tie down various things for example a kayak in the back of my truck.

I do this as well, however, by grabbing the wind pipe (feels like a small radiator hose) and cutting through just above where you grab it you will have a much smaller cut and less likely to get...
