Re: NJ bear season

I know dan our state has a rich hunting heritage and even new jersey has some decent pheasant stocking programs and good fish stocking....but it all can be defined as de funded with the stroke of a pen if people start loosing interest in our outdoor lifestyle.

Re: NJ bear season

I live right across the bridge from NJ in Pennsylvania and regularly go back and forth for work play and the beach. Our gun laws here and there are night and day. We can carry here with a easily obtained permit as long as you are a good boy or girl.Over in jersey it's almost impossible to carry. Ove...

Re: Special run on discont. bows, would you buy?

We will never know because "you know who " will never make an ultra light bow anyway to even try it no matter what model or width. From what l see many people say 50ish have gone to the crossbow for the univedible aging process and maby even a disability and they simply don't want to drag more than ...

Re: 2021 Season plans?

I'm really not gonna do a ton of scouting this season...l call it "scaring " we kinda know the deer are in there no need to wise them up more. H...

Re: RECOMMENDED SCOPE FOR GRZ2

I have both and the crossbones is my hands down favorite but the bolt/p3 is a lot more compact l would save the coveted crossbones for a "better" bow they are precious in my opinion and belong on your favorite crossbow. My eyes can't tell any clarity difference between the two the crossbones is maby...

Re: RECOMMENDED SCOPE FOR GRZ2

That bow shoots at 300 fps probably more like 280 with our zombies.
A nikon p3 is calibrated for a 300 for crossbow.
150 bucks. No frills clear as a bell scope.l love the simple traditional reticle.

Re: Special run on discont. bows, would you buy?

I think that even an exo or matrix bow light and balanced would compare to a 64" recurve or longbow ...very sweet to shoot so sweet that you don't mind a little width. Being ultralight a rope cock is mandatory so say 330 fps.

Re: Special run on discont. bows, would you buy?

I agree that a new run on the old bow wouldn't sell but a new possibly magnesium or drilled exo, matrix, micro configuration similar to a gearhead ultralight would definitely get some attention. My idea of the ultralight crossbow has fallen on deaf " ears for years" now to the excalibur engineers. Wh...

Re: Who Misses The Old Bows

From when l was 12 till my 50s l relied on compounds and recurves/ longbow that were barely over 200 fps and l killed many many a deer. So my 255fps vixen is just pleanty enough. I think l killed about a dozen deer with my vixen with spitfires and cabellas lazerstrikes and the bolt went thru every o...

Re: Who Misses The Old Bows

It's all perspective....its almost like "traditional crossbow " hunting . My idol Roger rothaar once said." The compound never guaranteed success just as the recurves never prevented it" .Just an example of old vs new. Makes a lot of sense...the smaller limb bows aren't as trouble free and in my opi...
