Re: O/T Shotgun Turkey Hunters

I think I've used just about everything out there. I would use fiber optics over plain bead sights. Just easier to see in all light conditions. I prefer a Simmons Pro Diamond scope overall. Just works better for me.A legal bird for me has to have at least a 6 inch beard so a scope helps me out.If th...

Re: Grits

I was looking at the fat layer on the meat. We don't get much way down here in the south! Looks awful good though.

Re: Trying something new this spring

What ever you chose Dan , you'll have a blast doing it. I love deer hunting but hunting turkey is just alittle bit more special to me. Something about talking to that turkey to make him come to you and to feel that gobble that wants to knock your hat off. Gotta love it!!! Good luck again Dan.

Re: Camera mount

I haven't tried a scope mount yet. I've come up witha poor mans version to test if I want to go the filming route. I use one of of those big black paper clips that you use in schools or the office. I turn the phone sideways and clip it to my foot stirup. The side of the phone is level with the top o...

Re: Ticks on deer

They do seem to run in cycles down here too. Most of the ones I get are pin head size also but I'll have 100 on just one hand.

diablo bolts

Is there a way to add lumenocks to factory stock diablo bolts? I use bolts that have them already installed but have had some broken by shooting some hogs. Both bolt types shoot the same for me but I've like using the lumenocks.

freezing deer meat

Just curious about people that process their own deer meat. What do you use when you freeze it? Do you use freezer paper , vacuum seal bags or ziplock bags? Lately I've been leaving the hind quarters intact and wrapping with freezer paper which seems to be doing good.

Re: peace of mind

Kind of reminds me of my father. When ever we went fishing when I was young he would always say"I wonder what the poor people were doing?" because it made him feel like a million dollars.

peace of mind

Is it me or is the best place in the world to be is in the woods? It seems all the care and troubles in this world melt away when I'm in a treestand. Being in Gods creation recharges my batteries especially in todays busy life style. I used to be in retail management and this is the first time in ye...
