Re: How affordable would a compound x-bow need to be to be attractive?
I bought a Camx 330 last year for $275. It was used but in new condition. I loved it so much, I bought another brand new one for $250 this year. They are a joy to use. I love my Excals dont get me wrong, but the 380 is becoming a back breaker the older I get.

Re: Whaaaat!
My catalog went in the trash. I am disappointed in cabelas right now. The last 3 out of 4 orders have been backordered or cancelled even after the money came out of my cabelas club card. They charge before the item is shipped even they tell you they don't. Since the Bass Pro take over, they have we...

Re: How many chances?
Shoot bro, that's nothing! I blew 7 or 8 chances this season. Was using shotgun, but it didnt make any difference. Had a boss at about 8yd. He needed 2 steps but decided otherwise. Had them at 57yds 3 times, 50yds once. Got out of setup twice and had them looking at me. Finally decided to shoot a ja...

Awesome! Congrats to the young lady. Hard to imagine in these crappy times, something good could come out of it. But, a lot of family time has for many of us.

Re: I got turkey hunting eyes
Same story here. I work 2nd shift, and normally go to bed around 2am. So getting up at 4:30 has been killing me. I have finally burned out, emptyhanded so far. The IN season closes on Mothers Day, so I only got a couple hunts left.

Re: Day 2 crossbow Turkey
Nice bird, way to go! Indiana turkeys have been giving me the middle toe so far! I cant do anything right this year. Busted or blown the chance 5 or 6 times now. Sad.

I have made several as well. Used last year for first time, and it was a success! Easy, fun, effective, and a great conversation piece!

Enjoy that 22 and airgun! Plenty good enough to scratch that itch.

Re: O/T Shotgun Turkey Hunters
Easiest call is probably a push type box call. It's basically a push in knob or plunger that makes a Yelp. You can almost start a riot talking about what call type is best or when to make what sound. Lol. As for a decoy, we use a styrofoam ball with tail feathers stuck in. Mount it to a rod and push...

Re: O/T Shotgun Turkey Hunters
Plain Jane Remington Nitro #5 turkey loads have shot the most consistent out of several guns for us 12 & 20ga. It is one of the few that's buffered, so has the best chance of consistent launch. Price and availability cant be beat either. I pick them up at year end clearance deals. I am already s...

Re: Trying something new this spring
Reading a lot of guys using .410 with the TSS successfully. Still not legal in Indiana yet though. I am a late start in life turkey hunter, but 30+ yr deer hunter. Only started 8 yrs ago, due to my buddy hounding on me to try it. He learned from a friend and his dad who are from TN. He is highly suc...
