Boltcutter and Wasp Boss broadheads

When I got my Ibex a couple of weeks ago, it came with a right stuff package. A couple of days ago, when ordering some stuff from Dan Miller (thanks for letting me know about him, he was great) I realized that the broadheads that were included, six 100 grain "the Boss by Wasp" were not wha...

Do crossbows shoot bolts or arrows?

I was over at ArcheryTalk and a member there was making a big deal because a newbie posted asking what bolts to use with his crossbow. He was informed in no uncertain terms that crossbows shoot arrows, not bolts. I'm a newbie to crossbows too. What is the difference between a bolt and an arrow? Is i...

Re: Ibex purchase

Would have bet money on you loving it gundog. It's what I chose too.
The "real stuff" package is nice, a cocking string would be top of my list if it didn't come with one, after that, lighted nocks and Cognac :D
enjoy,
David

Re: Burt Coyote Lumenok bolts

Wheelie wrote Why would you want the expence of have them on all of them? Thanks for your reply, answer is, I don't necessarily want them on all my bolts, but I do want all my bolts to fly the same and have the same point of impact. That's why I was wondering if there were cheap practice bolt ends t...

Re: cell phone mounted on a bow

I know the question was directed at Stash, so I hope I'm not stepping on toes. The camera I bought, which I believe is the same as Stash's camera, is the DVK 808 Mini spy camera. http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRP7YWzqEAai3CjJE2VnPT9hQvMGnHanATi0NqGpHtHxJsPFQ7ZCg Here is the translation of ...

Burt Coyote Lumenok bolts

I just got an Ibex with the "right stuff" package; love it. I'm planning on using lumenok bolt end equipped bolts, with the included boltcutter BHs this coming season. I am going to be buying more bolts. Are the bolts used by Burt Coyote for his pre-fitted lighted nock bolts Firebolts, or ...

Re: cell phone mounted on a bow

I just bought one of the Spy mini cams, as suggested by Stash. $18 for it and the 4Gig memory card. It looks very promising, thanks Stash. It takes amazingly good video and is easy to use, once you get a good translation of the Chinese instructions  I've put together my own instructions in a M...

Re: new to cross bows

The feed sack stuffed with rags works great as a field point target :D
About 4 inches of penetration and the bolts almost fall out, I love it.
Many thanks,
cheers,
David

cell phone mounted on a bow

Hi Guys,
has anyone tried mounting their cell phone on their bow to take video of the last few minutes of a hunt? I know there are mounts for video cams. Can these be ordinary cameras or do they have to be particularly shock resistant? I'm thinking of the effect recoil may have on them,
cheers,
David

Re: new to cross bows

Many thanks for all the good advise and kind words of welcome. I'm going to try to make a field point target bag by stuffing a double bagged Agway feed sack tightly with old scrap cloth. If that doesn't work I'm off to Gander Mountain with the gift certificate I got for Xmas. Either way the price is...

new to cross bows

Greetings all, I'm new to crossbow hunting, but have shot a compound for about 20 years. I just got an Ibex and couldn't wait until Spring so I set up a 12 yard range in my barn using my vertical bow's layered target. When I went to pull out the firebolts that came in the "Right stuff" pac...

Re: Vortex vs Ibex

Just made a similar decision. I chose the Ibex based on being 5' 7" and finding it hard to fully cock the larger bow. How tall are you? If you are 5' 10" or more go with the bigger bow,
cheers,
David
