Deer Hunting in a Blizzard??

With only 2 weekends left I am dying to get out there but we have blizzard conditions. I'll be within a quarter mile of my house so safety isn't an issue.

Is it worth it or will the deer be hunkered down??

Re: made it back

Lol. You lost me when you used "wife", "camper" and "butchering tools" in the same sentence. The closest my wife will ever get to a camper and butchering tools is the steak knife at the 5 star hotel restaurant!! Although she does enjoy eating venison. Sounds like a grea...

Re: Windy, 3 legged coyote down

I walked in from the farm house with the wind in my face just before first light. I cut right across the middle of the field and headed right to the tree stand. I figure with the strong winds I would position myself up high to watch the overgrown old orchard on my left and big hey field on my right...

Re: Off-season Considerations For My Micro 335

For hunting, I like simplicity and am not one for "curb feelers", but on my Micro, I've got one of Boo's Force 10 flemish strings. I had used a factory flemish string on my Exomax and don't believe it gained anything, but on my Micro, the difference was like night and day. I too used a st...

Re: Finally....And Got It on Film!!

Good eating right there. Am impressed with the video quality, if I remember correctly that cam is under a hundred bucks, right? Makes me wish I had the coin to buy one when the Canadian dollar was at par with the US greenback. ATN Shot Trak runs right around $100. The only challenge I've had using ...

Re: New Member, New To Crossbows, Matrix Questions

I've owned an Exomax, Micro 335 and now a Matrix 330. Based on ease of cocking the M330 wins hands down. Oh, and the 2 does I shot this weekend didn't seem to mind that it doesn't shoot as fast as some of the other Excalibur bows. :D :D :D :D

First Ever...Two Days in a Row...And I got it on Film!!

What a weekend. Went out this morning with no expectations after killing a doe just yesterday. Called this little girl in from 150 yds and shot her at 30yds. This time the Lumenok worked. The ATN Shot Trak performed OK in low light. It was 7-7:15 am or right around sunrise and very overcast. I'd lik...

Re: Finally....And Got It on Film!!

Nice job. Great video. There's some fine eating there. I'm glad you posted the type of camera as I'm considering buying one and wanted a sample of the quality. How did you attach it to the bow? It's attached with an Excalibur Tac Pac rail. I like the camera so far. Real simple, just on/off and aim ...

Regarding the Lumenok, I have found that if I rough up the back end of the arrow with an emory board before installing them, they light every time.
Thanks. I'll give it a try.

Finally....And Got It on Film!!

This season has been marked by frustration!! I experienced early season equipment failures, changed bows, then bad luck deer encounters including hitting a branch, a dog walker scaring a deer and a coughing fit ruining another close encounter. I've had more deer encounters this season than ever befo...

Re: Micro 355 Questions

The difference is in the "shape" of the riser. "swept forward" "straight" or "swept back". In other words although the powerstroke is "technically" the same, what differs is how much the limbs are "PRE-LOADED". The difference can be seen b...
