Re: MNR Harvest Report

im getting frustrated listening and reading hunter comments about the mnr biologists. It seems the folks I hear and read would prefer they abandon Science altogether in favour of anecdotal rash judgements. This notion is stupid of you ask me, just plain stupid. The basis of science are trends in dat...

Re: New Exomax Help

Make sure to watch the instructional vids on the website re: setting brace height etc.. A search of this forum will yield the answer to any questions that arise. It is unsafe to shoot these bows with an improper brace height, so make sure you confident that you can set that properly.

Re: WMU 82a Specific hunters - Feed back

I hunt 84 on the lakeshore and feel your pain. We've been through 5 low years but were definitely into a rebound now which is hard to explain after the rough winter. We shot 2x as many deer as the last five years and only hunted 1/2 the week due to poor weather. Half the pole was 1.5 year old bucks ...

Re: not seeing any deer 1hour north of toronto

Same thing all over S. Ontario from what I am hearing. Between increasing coyote populations and the bad winter its my belief that populations have been significantly impacted. I don't have any empirical evidence, but I haven't seen anything archery or rifle hunting this year. Not to mention that t...

Re: OT- My Sympathies To My Canadian Friends

I hope every time this murder is talked about they show Corporal Nathan Cirillo`s face not the spineless shooters face . RIP agreed, the worthwhile conversation here is about Canadian loss and Canadian bravery today. Corporal Cirillo. As a former fellow reservist, fellow parent and proud Canadian, ...

Re: OT-What is the world coming to?

My uncle, a career military man now "retired" is a security guard on parliament hill. :( Hoping it was his day off, but probably not. Trying to have some faith that he's more than fully capable of taking care of himself. May the full wrath of hell reign down on these dirtbags. Hopefully by...

Re: 3 Bulls Down

People say the 30-30 has taken the most deer. If I had to guess which Excalibur had taken the most moose, I'd bet on those exomags.

Re: Poison Ivy

I've had Pi probably 20 times. The Woods I used to hang out in as a kid were infested. Most commonly, in between the fingers from tying boot laces after walking through it. I'Ve taken to wearing nitrile gloves in those areas may-sept. Interestingly, I never clean my boots with anything and find afte...

Re: How to make Permethrin

Permethrin is a mammalian nerve agent and know human carcinogen. Please make sure you are following all label and MSDS precautions if you are going to do this. Personally, I work with pesticides for a living and would never consider storing, mixing and handling concentrated permethrin to save a few ...

Awesome!!! Curious how you found the meat and how you utilized it. Was it edible straight up or did it need to be processed as sausage etc.?

Re: Trouble with Ontario Deer Draw

I think it works slick as **** I hunt 3 WMU's bow, rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader. One controlled hunt. I buy 3-4 deer tags a year and apply for an antlerless. In 15 years I've never had an issue and NEVER ONCE missed out on an additional tag. I generally just walk into service Ontario and purchase at...

Re: Thief is Back

I solved a problem like this one time by whipping up some homemade caltrops. 4" framing spikes with the heads ground off. Bend 'em u-shaped and tack back to back with an arc welder. In my case, the offender wound up with 4 flat tires on my property where he didn't belong. In your case, y...
