No Sunday gun hunting = excal time!
The outdoors and hunting have provided many great experiences over the years, but it's never to late to add a new one. My first crossbow turkey. One of my best spots sees a ton of traffic of all skill levels on the neighboring farms. Sundays are the day to have it all to myself with the gun hunters ...

Re: Turkey Time Ontario
No orange hunting, however I never go turkey hunting without orange vest and cap in my pack. It's busy out there in the ontario turkey woods. If I have to approach a trespasser or walk out on a property I'm sharing with other hunters etc. it takes 30 sec to throw on for safety.

Re: Watchin Deer From Ladder Stand
For years at our hunt camp, practice has been to hunt new areas with portables then build permanent box blinds in the spots that produce well. Invariably, we have found that the spot isn't as good after the box blind is erected. Portable hangers just seem to kill more deer.

Re: Anybody hunt Turkey with their Excal?
one of the areas I hunt doesn't allow sunday gun hunting. Those are xbow days
I use wasp jackhammers but any large D mech bh's work well. I've seen 2 birds that had been body shot with 3 blade rage. Almost cut birds into pieces.

Re: 1st strutter of the season
Giggity..
They're really hitting the open fields this week. Still in winter flocks. Haven't seen any puffed up yet around k-w. typically they are strutting a bit around here by the end of the month. Happy scouting!

Re: Hunting on the Bruce Peninsula?
I should edit my response with regards to waterfowl. there are good opportunities for you to hunt some shoreline areas and rivers, especially if you have a boat to access these areas. We used to build blinds out of driftwood on some of the rocky points for ducks and geese. Also, we used to hunt a co...

Re: Hunting on the Bruce Peninsula?
To my knowledge (and I'm from there) there isn't a stitch of crown land on the bruce peninsula. If there is any "public" land, it is privately owned and the owners allow some public use. The only example of this I know of are a couple of x-country ski clubs. The conservation areas are not ...

techniques/tools for resharpening replaceable bh blades
Hello and happy new year Have read mention on here of members resharpening replaceable blades. Would appreciate any helpful advice on regaining a surgical quality edge. Do you use a clamp/jig system such as a lansky etc to maintain a constant angle or are any of you using a broadhead specific sharpe...

Re: New to Me Exomag
You've gotta get your arrow problem fixed to eliminate that as an issue, don't like the sound of that one yer using. Get a good matched set of proper arrows and the performance of that exomag will jump substantially. You can check the bst maybe find a deal on some good used ones. There are also cust...

Can save you a drive, earlydale meat between Elmira and floradale. Bit hesitant to recommend as I've yet to use them but will this year as several friends have had outstanding (IMO) product from '10 & '11.

If I were you I'd be headed to an orthoped to look into getting some orthotics. Could be a long list of causes. One leg slightly longer than the other, pelvic alignment, pronating, etc. etc.. Get an assessment from an orthoped. If you have a benefit plan they may be covered. Even if they're not, a c...
