Re: QUINTUPLITS....HOW DID IT HAPPEN????

Took long enough to figure it out. ;) Here is what goes through my silly brain... You have the Scorpyd, so you've got your speedy power shots already covered. So the A420TD should go first. Long shots must not be the higher percentage of your hunting - if I'm wrong, you should be keeping the A420TD ...

Re: Excalibur TrailBlazers

Maybe we should just start hunting land creatures with a fishing bow setup. Then we could just reel in the bolt. And if we needle the animal with a pass-through, we have all that yards of line to follow to the drop point :eusa-dance:

Re: Excalibur TrailBlazers

I think I'm going to try the 100gr Trailblazers. With my Zombies, that puts the arrow weight at 400gr. Seems that is the winning weight in the arrow weight thread, and several of the frequent members here have mentioned that as their hunting weight.

Re: QUINTUPLITS....HOW DID IT HAPPEN????

First rule, you can't sell any to me. Period. Guess you need to figure out what you want for speed. If you love the Axe, makes sense to keep both of them. Will they cover all of your shooting range? If you need more, then it would probably be wiser to keep one Axe and maybe the 420TD. The Axe for mo...

Re: Excalibur TrailBlazers

I am only shooting Michigan whitetails, not bears. I will put a 150gr field point on an arrow and hear how it hits at the 40 & 50 yard markers. I don't want it so heavy that blade deployment and pass-through capability becomes questionable.

Re: Excalibur TrailBlazers

Jabsey - so you are using the 150gr, since that is the one in your hand? Have you glued one and tried it yet? That is the one I am leaning towards for my 360TD. With my Zombies that would put it at 450gr or a little more with a Lumenok. I have not tried that heavy of an arrow yet in the Micros.

So what was their favorite Broadhead??
All the "experts" actually agreed on the exact same one, it was like a hunter's miracle. But right before they could tell me your piece of popcorn ate them all up. It was tragic, so I fed you to the dog.

Yeah! I tried to setup a group of forum members made out of popcorn to get me through the outage. But they turned cannibalistic :eusa-popcorn: whenever I tried to ask a question.

Re: Excalibur TrailBlazers

I wasn't implying that my 360s were wimps. I guess the point I wanted to make is that the manufacturers are great at telling us how fast they have tested the meachanical heads, but they don't give us the range of bow (speed or KE) that they are good to pair with.

Re: Excalibur TrailBlazers

Thanks for the write-up. I still have a pack of X-Act that I haven't tried yet, and Magnus Black Hornet SerRazors in 125gr that are waiting on the Zombies right now (no bows had an opportunity on deer last season). I'll probably pass on the 2" TrailBlazers due to the lower horsepower of the Mic...
