Re: My meat grinder Sucks!
I have a Waring Pro. The first one I bought lasted a few days, and I sent it back. They replaced it under warranty, and the replacement has lasted 6-8 years and is still going.

Rage 3 Blade Chisel Tip or NAP DoubleCross
Have any of you shot deer with these from a crossbow? I'm looking to get one of these two or possibly another 3 blade expandable head. I've shot mechanicals for over 15 years and never once had a premature opening, lack of opening, or any of the other problems I hear about, so I'm going with a mecha...

Re: Deer Drives
I have done drives every year for 25 years. I've never shot at a running deer. Either I can get it to stop, or I don't shoot. Most deer will stop for you if the drivers aren't running and shouting as they come through.

Re: asking for rage crossbow head advice pls
I shoot a 380 with Rage heads, and I've always loved them. The only shot I've ever taken that has missed my target or deer with a Rage was at 20 yards, and my arrow missed 45 feet high. It obviously opened prematurely, but I was re-using a head over and over and over again. I practice with the actua...

Re: Rethinking my shot??
Whatever direction you choose to go, DON'T let an anti make the decision for you. He has zero power to tell you not to hunt. He doesn't have to like it. I'm not encouraging being rude, but you do your thing and let him do his. Second, I personally would never go for an intentional shoulder or spine ...

Re: Rage vs. Boltcutters
I've shot Rage for years both with my crossbow and compound. They work! They open every time. Making a poor shot and blaming the head is what you'll likely hear and read. "My cousin made a perfect heart shot. Blades didn't open, and we never found him." Your cousin hit the shoulder blade. ...

Re: Getting Interesting
I've seen a lot more activity this year than normal for this week. Last weekend I saw 43 deer. Only 6 were bucks, and they were all small, but all of those bucks were following/chasing does. I think the big boys will come out this week. They seem to know better than to chase for no good reason, wher...

Re: More Knife Stuff
I hunt on a farm owned by a custom knife maker. I've used a Chef's Choice for a few years as well as a wet stone. He showed me how to put a wicked sharp edge on a knife. First, buy a nice India stone. Second, get a carrier oil and mix it with diesel fuel to oil the stone. Then, and I feel this is th...

Re: Yet another broad head "I need opinion" post
I use the Rage Crossbow heads in 125 grain. I've loved them and had zero issues. The past 2 seasons I've been blessed with giant bodied bucks that dressed well over 200 pounds. Neither of them was a match for the head, and both died in under 70 yards. You MUST pay attention to the collar that retain...

Re: Baiting
As far as getting the best trail camera photos, I've found nothing beats mock scrapes. They simply work all year. I don't do anything too fancy. I scrape away leaves, spray the licking branch with dominant buck urine (yes I know bucks don't pee on the licking branch), and then 50/50 whether I put a ...

Re: Need arrows
I just built my own arrows, and it was quite simple. I don't have an arrow saw, so after my Zombie Slayers arrived, I took them to BassPro to be cut to length. They also inserted my 110 grain brass inserts. I ordered Ignitor nocks, put them in, and then fletched with Arizona EZ-Fletch bolt. The firs...

Go big or go home! You'll never regret having too much space, but you certainly will regret not having enough.

Re: Broadhead Suggestions
I will second that if you buy different arrows, be sure to get a brass insert. I have a 110 grain insert in my arrows and shoot a 125 grain Rage. They also have Ignitor nocks. With my arrow setup shooting from my Matrix 380, I've yet to find a broadhead that doesn't shoot well. I've shot Muzzy, Rage...
