Fred Bear paid a man to keep a deer penned up so that he could obtain the antlers every year. The deer lived about ten years or so. Then he took all the antlers and set them in a vertical display, with the earliest at the top. You could see how the buck started off with forks and went bigger as he g...

I bought a Knight Stainless Steel Wolverine with synthetic thumbhole stock- 50 cal, when Virginia openned a two week season in 1995. The reason was that at that time of the year the bucks were wild with lust. It was the latest and greatest model I could get my hands on. Very accurate and it knocked ...

Divinci designed a catapult that used a large bow to load the energy, then it released it onto the arm to fire. I saw it being re-made on TV show- Myth Busters. It was two machines.

I came back to this thread after a bit. I guess the guy wanted his fifteen minutes, felt pressured possibly. Either way- he botched it on TV. Probably a good lesson for him and others watching. ...but the reason I came back to the post was because it started with the rules thing. There are many dyed...

Almost forgot... Why do we want our arrows to receive a slight spin as they go, if we can control it's trajectory by regulating it's FOC ? Flying in an arked path as they do, I would think straight vanes, including the cock feather, and from there simply manipulate the FOC to achieve accuracy. I mea...

OK....OK...I made a little funny. ....but my question remains, at least in my mind. The cock feather, which doesn't exist on Excalibur arrows - BTW (apparently), MUST play a role in accuracy. It's path of travel MUST encounter the rail in some way. What if it isn't simply the rail's contact with the...

Question regarding arrow dynamics

I have been studying- again. I watched high speed camera films, and saw the arrows from vertical bows, flex, and curve around the riser. Watched them flex and recoil for quite a distance. Apparently fletching brings arrows to heal. I read where the spine is supposed to do this, that it must do this....

Don't know which is best- but I am glad that you are gonna start shooting again. Get you one of them targets that has the motion detector and moves sideways to meet your errant arrows. You will become fond of that one. I got a Yellow Jacket bag and keep it on the porch. The woman uses it as an...

Quess what I just bought

Hello- I just bought an Excalibur, and have been hanging out at the post office waiting for it to appear. I see your forum has been active for a long time, and to be sure, serves the brand well. Grateful I am, to have the opportunity to select such a fine bow. Figure I'll pull up my chair and stay a...
