My rifle and I got a doe
My hunting hasn't been great, but I am making due. Crossbow season, one week, saw me getting busted by the does early in the morning. It is a small property and they know it well. The farm is forty square acres, almost all field, with some woods along one side. Hard to get close to the spots they fr...

I think the biggest improvement that could be made in hunting, is a mask that catches your breath and filters it clean. We breathe in and expel gallons of air every minute while on stand, and all the internal compounds we breathe out tell vegetarians that we are meat eaters, and thus predators. Bear...

My guess would be that since the arrow is resting down in a groove, and since the string has to have good contact with the nock, that if you raised the string from there it might go whizzing over top of the arrow. I also suspect that the string would try to resist the force of pushing the arrow and ...

This is interesting. I assume you employ this special implement after you have gutted the beast, to remove what is left of it's rectum. Why the need ? I have field dressed many deer and never have I removed a sphinctor. Are you concerned that some fecal material may reside up in there ? Even if it d...

It would be distasteful to read my professional explaination in detail, so I shall simply save it and let you know that once eviscerated, hanging from either end works fine. The blood will not travel from the toes to the nose, nor will it get in gear and go head towards rear. Hang it nicely for the ...

Amazing how many things are printed in little bitty teeny tiny letters. Menus, ingredients, instructions, etc. Have had to make some changes, like having every size of battery at home because no way to ascertain while still at the store. I own five pairs of glasses now. Keep one pair in the tackle b...

That ML will knock the snot right out of them. One thing- when reloading after a shot, keep the barrell pointed away from your face. It is easy to to forget. There might be a hot ember down in there. If it encounters your powder it could cause it to flash and burn you. I too have a Knight rifle. Two...

Both of my surf fishing sites have a members only section. Unless you are a registered member you never even see the extra forums. It may seem a bit elitist, but we no longer have strangers appearing at places we fish. Also allows us to post up pictures of rigs, and techniques, etc. Not sure what yo...

They say washing your hands is the very best defense, and that is because it is the very best defense. The H1N1 flu ( Pig Flu) is slightly different in that it is extremely virulent and can be transfered so easily. Coughing causes spit to atomize and these small drops can be easily breathed in. But ...

I was there- where you are. Now I have a Vortex. It is still archery regardless- either bow will have it's limitations. If it will be just for hunting, go Equinox. If you intend to spend time target shooting and hunting, get the Vortex, if you just want to target shoot and hunt sometimes, get the Vi...

He made no suggestions regarding what I could not do, just what I could do, and where I should be when I do it. Ever feel slightly out of place ? I will shoot the first buck that passes, regardless of rack, and I will show my gratefulness. Now all I have to do is do it. I respect the mind set of the...
