My First Indoor 5 Spot

Well, as promised, I am posting my first 5 spot. I'm a little disappointed as I had a break in concentration on 4 shots. I did learn a few things though, and will have to make a few more minor mods to my rig. Will have to see how these help out next week.

My First FITA Shoot

I shot my first FITA score this evening. Whew, that 2 minutes can go fast! Ate dinner 2 hours earlier than normal, tried to get to the club to sight in as I hadn't shot past 10 yds. Got there, everyone else had the same idea! Had to wait for an opening on the line, guessed at elevation and shot. Got...

Re: Apex - SureLoc mounted - UPDATED

It only increased the lenght of the bow 2 3/4". Not a major problem. but if you wanted to keep it the same lenght, replace the rods supplied with couplers 2" shorter, or cut down the originals. Had to change nothing with form, holds rock solid with either scope or SureLoc. As I have alread...

Re: Apex - SureLoc mounted

I had to get some sleep, so I didn't finsh the "Bullet Proof" mount until early this afternoon. It is Rock solid, 5/8" aluminum plate. A separate mount base that attaches to the riser, then the spacer plate for the upright. All pinned and bolted together. The upright is 1/4" plat...

Re: Apex - SureLoc mounted

This bow will be able to use a scope or the SureLoc. Initially I set it up and tuned it with a scope, same 3-9x I use for 3D. It will shoot the same hole at 10 yds with that also. But, your guess is correct, I'm planning to shoot NFAA indoor competion, maybe NAA (now USArchery) and others. They don'...

Apex - SureLoc mounted - UPDATED

After having numerous ideas on a way to mount the SureLoc, I finally decided to give one of the more simple ideas a try. This mount works OK, but I'm really not that satisfied with the stability. I have rethought this system, and figured a way to get more stability with very little work. Then the 1 ...

Apex - work in progress to finished, almost

Found out last week that the local archery club changed its rules to allow crossbows in most all of its events. Got real excited about that. Then went to work to see how much I could slow down my Ibex. Regardless of what I do, the KE will be over 70 lbs. I didn't like the idea of destroying the indo...

Re: Sight Mount

I have designed 3 different templates for a mount to attach the SureLoc. Just wanted to see if anyone else had tried this and what their idea/mount looked like.

Sight Mount

Anyone have a pic of a mount for the Excal that can attach a SureLoc sight? I really would like to see one.

Thanks

Cabelas will make things right with the scope. I understand the current owners disappointment. I do think taking/returning it to Cabelas will get him a new one, or maybe even a credit.

Not to worry. There will be another minor rut again, about a month past the main rut. THe bucks will be chasing any does that didn't get bred, or those yearling just coming into cycle. Usually the first week of Dec.

Guess I have to clarify some more. I have NEVER taken some one elses trail marker! This was all posted as a joke, that no one got! If some where, some time, some one did get hurt due to markers being moved or taken that is a real shame. If you use markers, they should be set in daytime, and you shou...

Grizz,

I live in the Shenendoah Valley, right smack in the middle of the state, what is termed the I81 corridor. I have seen snow here, just not for deer season. Most of what we get is late Jan, early Feb.
