Dan's first statement is dead on. ha ha!! It really doesn't matter that your field points and broadheads don't hit the same hole. The important thing is your broadheads are sighted in to your scope, before hunting season.

Re: Arrow fish tailing
Thanks for more replies. I know wind could be a factor, but in these pictures, wind not the problem. I have video of me shooting my M355, and I have never saw anything like this on my shots. THESE PICTURES ARE NOT MINE. FROM VIDEO ON YT. Here are two pictures that show two different movements of the...

Re: Arrow fish tailing
An arrow that flies with minimal spiraling will have better penetration. If the spiral is too big, it will hit all over the place at different distances. 2 o'clock at one distance, 7 o'clock at another. If it is weak spined and the fletching can't stabilize it quickly enough, the arrow will be flex...

Re: Arrow fish tailing
Thanks for the replies so far. Forgot to say the fletchings on this fellows arrows are 4" and original or original replacement arrows of Excalibur. This guy does not do or make any changes from what Excalibur says to use. He shoots rage expandables now, used to shoot the X-Acts, but last year s...

Arrow fish tailing pictures on page 2
Ok, question is, I have seen some videos of shots at live deer, and with the lighted nock, the arrow is showing it is fish tailing for first few yards after being shot. Now the fellow takes the deer, but to me there is a problem with his arrow. IMO, I don't think it should be fish tailing after leav...

Re: Will this work
I'm trying to add a little weight to the front of my xx75 2219 camo hunter shafts, will these inserts work for these shafts or is there another way of doing this without having to switch to heavier broadheads. https://ethicsarchery.com/collections/clearance/products/ethics-archery-305-static-insert...

Re: The broad broadhead discussion
"My preference is to keep things simple, and tend towards some overkill to maximize my chances when things do not go "perfectly". The above quote from Keith's above post is a good thing to remember when building arrows. Build arrows that will work on thick meat, heavy boned, thick ski...

Re: Makin bolts
X2 Also bolts had no fletching. Why aluminum? Some inserts and nocks that fit carbon arrows, do not work in aluminum arrows. Most use E-Z Bolt fletcher, with a hard helical on vanes. If shots are 40 yds. and less the 2" vanes work great. If shooting 40 yds. and out 3-4" fletching will do y...

Fletching
What distance are your vanes from the end of the arrow shaft?
Would there be any reason, not to be as far back as you can get?

Re: Magnus Black Hornet broadheads
My choice for thick skinned game such as hogs and bear except straight edged not serrated. Fly great, sharp, strong as hell and no questions asked warranty. Just send a picture of the damaged head and a replacement will be on the way. I agree here. Straight edge cuts cleaner and causes less "w...
