Re: Bugs Build along
Looking good! Doing that grip would scare me. Mike, you are fearless when it comes to wood. Carry on... Gary

Re: One hell of a day!!!
I just heard that in the US only 10% of the young people are fit for military service. Your daughter is already ahead of 90% of her peers. Military training will put her even farther ahead. Congrats! Gary

Nice one. Looks like you have just enough room to squeeze one more mount on that wall. Gary

That stock is going to be beautiful. Look at the fiddleback showing in the second pic. I also like your adjustable fence on your drill press. Where did you get it? Are they still available today? Gary

Oh no! You're down for a while it looks like. Take it easy and heal up. This thread can wait. I worked in a machine shop for many years and lost about 1/2" of my thumb in a screw machine. Hurt like hell for 3 days. You don't realize how important your thumb is until you lose it...or at least pa...

Re: Carved Limbs to Mag Limbs
I changed the limbs on my '97 Exocet to the newer ones and I wish I had my older ones back. Make the bow seem heavier, bigger, wider. Since I did a warranty trade on my limbs I couldn't get them back so I bought another Exocet, a '94 with carved limbs. I'm happy again. Gary

Re: Bugs Build along
You're coming right along Mike. That lower piece you trimmed off the blank looks big enough for a shotgun forend. Don't throw it away! It's fancy enough to make some small item from it. I just finished stocking a M-12 Winchester and am finishing stocking a M-92 Win. now. I start carving the stocks ...

After 3 separate gun seasons here in IL, all of our deer are now nocturnal. Do you blame them? Find a bedding area and get in there about 2 hours before first light and you might see one. Gary

Re: MY STAND NO MEANS NO!
I own a little bit of land but haven't had any problems. If I caught someone hunting on my land that wasn't one of my neighbors I'd call the game warden and have them issued a ticket. The game wardens usually try to talk the land owner out of writing a ticket but if the land owner presses it, the ga...
